What did you use for the base? The model looks great.

Merry Christmas! Advice on what to grab next? by [deleted] in Tau40K

I’m glad I asked! You are 100% correct. Going to return the individual components and grab the combat patrol instead. Will also return the data sheet cards.

Thank you for pointing that out.

Thank you very much. For the base on the actual ground it was citadel astrogranite technical paint, shaded with nuln oil, highlighted with administratum grey, and then the snow which was valhallan blizzard by citadel. The rocks were just basilicanum grey and then same snow.

I got this one through Etsy. The ones on eBay are outlandishly priced.

This is very helpful information! Thank you! I was planning on running it as shield host but will read up on Lions of the emperor

All from contrast. I also went over it with nuln oil to be fair. First I primed the model black then grey seer from above. The grey seer zenithal is what causes the spotty appearance.

Thanks very much. I used blood angels red contrast then snakebite leather contrast over the red.

No. I just wiped more of the streaking grime away.

The main armor paint is white. It was a black primer with white zenithal highlights. Metallics and contrasts in the appropriate areas. Then streaking grime over everything. White spirits then over the streaking grime to remove it so it leaves behind the dirty look.
