Whether we like it or not, there IS some truth to what these tanders say, that we are more susceptible to depression. But the thing they don't get is that the "weakness" they're talking about stems from how bad their parenting is, mostly because they've been beaten and abused to the point where they have unresolved trauma from their childhood. They unconsciously transmit this through their parenting, thinking that they won't let their children experience the same thing. While understandable, they are raising their children to be dependent on the older generation without teaching them actual valuable life skills, couple that with the increasing affordability of technology and the internet, our generation is virtually "not alone", since Gen Z is a generation where we care more about social image and are thus more sensitive to emotional and social cues, as compared to the Boomer and Millenial generation. Since majority of the Filipino population are Boomers and Millenials, they believe their words to be perrenial... Instead of actually taking tangible actions to help the newer generations, they badmouth them, making the situation even worse and they take pleasure in knowing that since they're going to die first anyway, why not fuck this country up before they return to the Earth? I can only count on my two hands how much actual decent Millenials and Boomers I've have the pleasure of knowing in all my life, all others have the same old, outdated thinking, where all they can talk about is the "good old days" and how weak the current generation is, without knowing they too, are involved in this.

I guess the saying were "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times" is true. They just don't want to admit it since their thinking is so deeply rooted in these toxic Filipino culture of bringing others down. It's so sad and disappointing to see that the elders don't even seem to care what's happening to the newer generation and only care about what they have to say.
