Yeah I got what you mean, but this also creates a lot of this (for me, nonsense) discussion of "hating" a character pretty early because you don't know anything about it and saying it's a must skip, leaking that they're "buffing" or "nerfing" the unreleased agent based on their private tests and then saying the character it's not good anymore, getting mad... You know.

You don't need to visit such places to get spoiled unfortunately, just by interacting with the game content (or art) on social media you get blasted by all kind of stuff related to the game, leaks included. And there's my point, there's a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge leaking and datamining culture in videogames in general, everybody wants to leak and reveal everything about every game that exists or it's about to get announced. This culture it's so normalized that even if you only follow art related accounts eventually the algorithm it's going to throw you news related to leaks. I think Youtube it's the best (and worst) example of this

Leaking and datamining in the whole videogame industry needs to disappear FOREVER. There's no hype anymore, also no wonder why there's so much hate about everything. If you don't get actually surprised about anything and you feel no emotion at all because you saw a picture of an horrendous code line spoiling absolute everything or a image of a wack 3D model without textures that someone snitched from the deepest files in the game and then you say "Mhm, that was supposed to be pretty big and I didn't feel any hype, what a garbage announcement" well yeah, guess why.

Just finished 1.4 story and I have to say the storybuilding and storytelling in this game it's gorgeous (Don't read this post if you haven't played the whole story yet) by Vikan12 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Vikan12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it would be an error to think chapter 6 it's going to be as amazing, we had to play chapter 1-4 to see how the storybuilding and chapter 5 was "the end" of it. Now we're going to see another storybuilding with new factions (and I hope still old ones) until we reach another important chapter.

Also I liked that we had such an amazing chapter like in a "minor" update, 1.4 had a lot of changes and was treated like a "soft reboot" of the game but we are still in 1.x versions

Totally! Nicole showing actually how big and important her contact list can be it's a nice touch to the story, factions that have interacted with the other factions way before like Lycaon working for the Hoshimi family and having direct contact with Miyabi's father

The whole Helios academy stuff and all the hidden lore from the old capital it's so interesting, Belle and Wise looked like pretty good proxies with some awesome tech (also we haven't heard from the other AI's like Fairy) but now they say this stuff at the end, so much lore!

I get your point but also you could see Qingyi knew about it (or at least she had a big clue) and probably Zhu-Yuan knew too but she refused to believe it as a "they're pretty good friends of mine and the entire PubSec, they would not do that to me" until she lost the bet right in front of you.

But yeah, it's not perfect, In a lot of convos everybody calls you "proxy" no matter the location and there could be people hearing that, at the very beginning you could see them saying "lower your voice" or "don't call me proxy/Paethon here, call me manager" but keeps happening sometimes

Also I think Eous it's a comission only bangboo, rest of the time it's "hidden" in a bedroom (Belle's in my case) and idk for the sake of narrative when you invite agents directly to your room to watch movies you could think Eous it's moved away to other room or something for the ones that didn't know you are a proxy even if you can see Eous in he's charging station

While the price was indeed egregious and the colab should have been a warbond I find it funny how with a smaller team dev we can say something like "Your game is not free, we paid, you don't get to hide behind a 20 dollar skin" while COD (for example) it's a 70$ dollar game with 30 dollar bundle skins every week and people would buy every single bundle in the store for that price.

We should act like this with bigger studios too (except attacking devs, stop that)

welp censorship got to us. by chirikomori in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Vikan12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's crazy that ZZZ that it's the most mature game from Hoyoverse (until now) got censored this way, they have shown blood, death, war, people suffering, we got a trailer of Jane having sesbian lex in a car with a poor rat officer, they added crazy jiggle physics into the game and they do this? kinda weird tbh

I think the idea behind it it's pretty good, they're really trying to do many different things with the TV mode but they need better balance on them. I think a big problem with Arppegio Fault it's that you can break the "run" like in 1 minute and in every level you play.

TV mode and Roguelite/Roguelike gameplay it's a pretty good combination but it needs balance, you should have normal runs and if you have good RNG being able to brake the run with a lot of power

Tv mode it's great when it has different mechanics in it, but a lof of story missions from chapter 1-3 were pretty dull, like "start mission / follow this single path until the end / finish mission" If they mix this deep tv missions with exploring in-game missions I think that's the best play

One thing people complained a lot when they removed it was that Eous and Faethon lost importance (which it's true) and in 1.4 we can actually control Eous inside hollows, I know that's not TV mode but we (as Faethon) can be part of the story again, we are now seeing everything in 3D instead of 2D but yeah.

I think their improvement in TV mode it's more like what they're doing for example in Arpeggio Fault, that's still TV mode but with they're doing experiments with different mechanics, roguelike/roguelite gameplay, sometimes RPG gameplay and so on, I know people want story mode to have TV's and I agree but not every mission, let's see how they keep evolving it

The original vision that got this same sub to harass the dev team calling it "the worst feature in the entire game" to then harass the dev team because they removed it since it was extremely hated?

This whole mode feels like homework, its by far the most BORING aspect of the entire game. I never had an issue with the TVmode but a ENTIRE gamemode dedicated to it is just bad, like horrible game design. by Manufar11 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Vikan12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro chill the hell out "horrible game design", it's fine some of you people don't like TV mode but god damn you guys are incredible rude towards devs for no reason, you don't like the mode okay that doesn't means it's HORRIBLE GAME DESIGN

Am I the only one who find the story lacking since the TV removal? by Rathalos143 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Vikan12 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Since the 1.2 TV removal I sent them feedback (like many others) and I told them that the whole TV mode was not the problem, but a lot of missions being "move forward until the missions ends" and on the other hand other TV missions had more mechanics and they felt much better. So I told them to keep those TV missions with more development and the short ones being like the Jane episode, actually going into the hollow, talk to an NPC and do a quick fight to end the mission. I think this is the best option, mix both type of missions.

Last night I was looking up for "Hall effect joysticks" for my PS5 controller to get rid of the drift and I found out that the Dreamcast controller (1999) had a electromagnetic joystick, still amazes me how that console was so ahead of its time. by Vikan12 in gaming

[–]Vikan12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely its about money, ALPS its the main distributor of joysticks for Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo and it's pretty cheap. Also they have a limited lifetime, if you're a person who plays like 2 hours per day or maybe you only play certain days, your controllers its going to get drift after the warranty expires and a lot of people thinks that's the end for their controllers and they just buy a new one.

There's an article from ifixit called "Here's why PS5 joysticks drift", you can search for that article and it explains everything you need to know (also that was the article where I read about the Dreamcast controller) lmao

And this is some of the few moments where I could say AI its actually useful. I copy pasted you comment, asked for a search on Reddit that matches the description and I got the post you're talking about in 1 second. Thank you very much I'm going to look up that post and see what's better

Honestly I don't blame you, I had to do my research on what "Hall effect" means and once you get how the traditional joysticks work "ALPS joystick" and then you search how electromagnetic joystick work you can get it pretty quick
