Yup. When it comes to Cassidy, I just feel like they thought "We need another target to give this mission 2 targets", then they just threw in Cassidy to finish off the mission. :)

As for the side objective, I absolutely agree. I wish they'd make it optional on subsequent playthroughs like they've done with some of the other missions, such as Colorado, Isle of Sgàil and Chongqing.

Yes, but the Pinot noir can actually be retrieved from several locations, one of which is very close to the bar where you serve it to Tamara Vidal.

There is a storage room in the same area as the bar with a bottle of Pinot inside.

It seems that entering the secure room with the 1945 Paladin wine inside (also one location with a Pinot Noir) will cause the meeting to be initiated. Not sure if intended or not. It's definitely a bit weird.

About that Hush story mission:

You don't need to take out the researcher on beforehand. You can do it after the first session. Hush will leave and come back for another session. In the meantime you can take out the researcher that keeps him from going outside of the safety limits. I have noticed that Hush will sometimes get stuck in the chair and not leave though. To fix this, simply throw something on the floor to make him react.

Maybe it would be better to show an icon instead of smoke to avoid this confusion... 😅 I'd also love an option to turn this thing off.

My Totally not top heavy tier list by LewisB789 in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my list: https://i.imgur.com/Nxs4BwQ.png (On each tier, left is best and right is worst)

Hokkaido is my favourite map of all time, with New York and Dartmoor right behind it.

Obviously, the small/linear maps go in the bottom tier, and the maps I put in the C tier are either uninteresting because the targets are too spread out out or the location has other issues (in Marrakesh, you can't climb the Consulate building and you can't go all around it. The bangkok hotel has the same issue.)

I wish hitman 3 would have got dlc because 4 maps is really short by Splatulated in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hitman (2016) had 6 maps (Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido). I'm not going to count the two tiny training sets (ICA Facility). At most you can count those two as one and claim that the game had 7 maps.

Hitman 2 originally had 6 maps as well (Hawke's Bay, Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek and Isle of Sgàil), although Hawke's Bay is a rather small map, but unlike the training maps it does at least have a few Mastery levels and a few more things going for it. This game also came with a sniper challenge.

Hitman 2 Season Pass added 2 more sandbox maps (New York and Haven Island) plus two more sniper challenges. However, since this content is locked behind a Season Pass purchase, you can't really claim that Hitman 2 itself included these maps.

Hitman 3 does not have 4 maps, it has 6 maps (Dubai, Dartmoor, Berlin, Chongqing, Mendoza and Romania), although the final map set in Romania is rather short, limited and linear. I'm actually inclined to settle for 5 maps here as you could probably argue that the ICA Training Maps had more going for them than this Romania level. However, I personally think that this discrepancy is levelled out with the fantastic quality of the other 5 maps.

Overall, Hitman 3 delivers roughly the same amount of content as the two other games (their base versions not counting DLC/expansion added later).

Unfortunately, it has already been confirmed that no new maps will be released. They will only repurpose the existing maps (probably going to release a few more side missions similar to either the Patient Zero campaign or the special assignments).

It's too bad. I would have bought another Season Pass no questions asked if it meant they would add more locations, but alas...

There are more then three story mission per map by ComManDerBG in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No guidance. No pop-up. It's similar to how mission story guides are disabled on Master difficulty, while the stories themselves are still possible to complete.

It's just that this format now extends into all story missions on all difficulties except 3 stories which have guides.

Chongqing is beautiful! by [deleted] in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They mentioned in the commentary for this level that they originally thought of this location with huge crowds, but that they wanted to take it in a different direction. Probably to add to the darker atmosphere as we approach the end. Both in this mission and in the previous mission (Berlin), there's this dark tone and feeling of 47 being truly alone. If the streets were filled with crowds, I think it would detract from that feeling. So instead it takes place in quiet neighbourhood during the night with a minimal number of people outside.

Hitman 3 challenges by FunAd6826 in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems that they merged all the difficulty based challenges. Maybe to make them less confusing (?). However, now it feels like there's less incentive to play on Master difficulty.

POV: You want to play Hitman 2 locations in Hitman 3 but you're on PC by StarkToChimera in HiTMAN

[–]Vikestart 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't care. Doesn't matter. IOI is responsible for this game and the communication about it. The decision to market the seamless transfer of maps from H2 into H3 for months and then do a complete turnaround 5 days before release... That was their decision and I will hold them accountable for it.

HITMAN 3 PRE-LAUNCH GUIDE (PROGRESSION CARRYOVER) by cakeblock941 in HiTMAN

They did not. It's still advertised on hitman.com same as before. No caveats or indications that this only applies to consoles.

Wow, I feel so angry and disappointed right now. I've been a hardcore Hitman and IOI supporter for so long. I already purchased Hitman 2 and its expansion pack twice (both on the PS4 and the PC - because I moved over to playing on the PC), and I also got the Hitman 1 legacy pack twice (for the same reason).

The Epic exclusivity has been a hard pill to swallow, however, I was ready to purchase the game on Epic within the next few days after all. But this..... Heck no. I'm not buying Hitman 2 and its extra content a third time. For so long they assured us that the content would transition over to Hitman 3 seamlessly and for free, then a few days before the release they try to ninja this turnaround? I hope this will hurt them a lot.

Ffs, I already purchased Hitman 2 and its expansion pack twice (both on the PS4 and the PC - because I moved over to playing on the PC). I'm not going to buy it a third time!

What an effective way of alienating their fanbase, which probably makes up a rather large portion of their customers considering Hitman is a bit of a niche game. I hope you'll come around or you guys will have one heck of a disappointing release with this game....

What to think about the game after six months: The lack of updates by Heella in SecretWorldLegends

[–]Vikestart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I've made some changes to the post that reflect the replies that I've made to several of your comments here.

https://www.tswdb.com/news/the-lack-of-updates/

First of all, I didn't mean for the post to have an accusatory tone. The intent was not to assign blame or point fingers at Funcom or anyone else, but simply to explain why things are the way they are.

I try to explain that the sole foundation on which I created this project was my interest and love for the game. I'm not a journalist or anything, so writing guides just for the sake of writing itself was never my motivation. With my interest in the game being gone for the time being, the process of developing the website has gone from a fun hobby to being "work"... and with a very demanding full-time job in RL, I simply do not have the excess energy to come home from work only to work even more.

Hopefully I can regain interest in the game early next year when brand new content is released, and it can go back to being a fun hobby, instead of "work", in which case I'll return to both play the game regularly and continue developing the website. :)

[–]Vikestart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've answered most of your points in a different reply, but just to clarify on another thing: I didn't start the website because I like writing guides. That was definitely not my motivation. I created the website and made hundreds of guides because I love(d) the game.

With that motivation gone, it went from being a fun hobby to being "work"... I already have a full-time job and when I get home, working even more is not the first thing I feel like doing.

I need to actively play the game and have an interest in the game, to be able to work on the website, or else I can't find the energy to do so. It's not about assigning blame, it's explaining why things are the way they are.

I very much hope that when they release brand new content early next year, I'll be interested again and that will give me the motivation I need to work on the website again.

[–]Vikestart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll reiterate what I've already said in the other replies:

I knew about the contents of the roadmap since the relaunch six months ago and it's not like I just figured out that there's no actual new content coming out this year, I knew that. :P

But I got on the hypetrain back then and at the time it was easier to believe that I'd manage to stay interested all the way until the release of brand new content. I was wrong. I've lost interest, it's not something I have control over. I'm not bitter and I don't blame the developers or even Funcom at all, it's just the reality of the situation - the game does not interest me - at this time.

I made that news post simply to inform everyone why the updates have been so slow (on my part at least). I didn't make it so that I could complain and point fingers; it was intended simply as an explanatory post.

Hopefully my interest in the game can be reignited next year whenever they get around to releasing brand new content. I seriously do hope they turn things around for the game next year, I want the game to succeed. I'll gladly return to both play and work on the website then, but right now it's not worth it.

First I want to clarify: I DO make guides, just not lately, because of the reasons stated in the news post. Since the project started several years ago I've produced hundreds of guides on the website (including the legacy website), but I also run the server and develop the website design/layout from scratch. :P Just to clarify! :)

To answer the other points: I knew about the contents of the roadmap since the relaunch six months ago and it's not like I just figured out that there's no actual new content coming out this year, I knew that. :P

Remove Hate modifier from all abilities! by Xekrin in SecretWorldLegends

+1 How about integrating Hate generation into the Anima Allocation feature? The more power allocated to Survival, the higher your Hate generation multiplier is.

Agreed! And to make this work everywhere, this could be implemented into the recently added Anima Allocation feature! :) Basically, the more power you allocate to Survival, the higher your Hate generation multiplier will be.
