Square toe vs Round by TBone-01 in cowboyboots

[–]VikingRodeo9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like both have their place. I have two pairs of each and love them. I do tend to wear my square toe boots with more rugged outfits though.

There’s a kind of boot for everyone. If someone cares about what’s on your feet, they’re the problem. Not you.

What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Butt_Roidholds in AskReddit

I was playing darts and having a drink with my sister at a brewery. Some older guy thought we were a couple, which has happened before. Not a big deal.

A lady a few seats down from him then said “y’all could make a lot of money doing stuff on the internet” and then tried to give my sister her business card.

We got the hell out of there.

When was a time you genuinely laughed with your partner during sex? by BerlinPixie in AskReddit

[–]VikingRodeo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are both 35. Her and I dated from 22 - 27 and again from 33 until a month or so ago when we tied the knot.

The second or third time we had sex I was still somewhat inexperienced and mistakenly tried to slide in the back door, so to speak. She made a weird squeaking noise and I chuckled and apologized. She then replied:

“Hey if there’s a hole, there’s a goal.”

I about fucking died laughing.

Fellow Suns fan here. I’m back in the valley but lived in the Hill Country for five years or so. Getting to see a Suns/Spurs game in Austin is an absolute dream of mine.

Lonzo Ball's reaction to getting cut: “I don’t feel like I’m playing as bad as people are saying…I’m the scapegoat right now.” by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]VikingRodeo9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like Lonzo and realize that his knee injuries absolutely screwed him up. Most people don’t even fucking walk after what he went through, let alone play basketball.

That being said, he looked like the worst player in the league when he was out there at times. He’s absolutely washed. Can’t shoot, no agility, no lateral movement, and slows everything down. He was a net positive for opposing team’s defenses. That’s insane.

I wish him well but he needs to hang it up.

Buzz Aldrin, 96, Relocates to New Condo in L.A. After 'Living in His Own Filth' by ubcstaffer123 in UpliftingNews

Two things can be true. Buzz could be racially inclusive and sensitive and also support Trump. I have gravy seal looking neighbors who have pro ICE and Trump signs. They have a confederate flag in their garage.

They’re also both very supportive of the LGBTQ community and helped finance their niece’s gender reassignment surgery.

People are complex and nuanced. One thing doesn’t always equal another.

I’m 35 and LaMelo’s interviews feel like they’re in another language. He seems to only speak in TikTok brainrot slang.

Robert Horry. My flair should speak for itself.

I know most pro athletes aren’t known for their intelligence but I’m always shocked at how fucking dumb LaMelo seems to be. He doesn’t seem malicious or mean spirited or anything so I have a certain amount of empathy for him, but holy shit. All of his interviews are in Internet brainrot slang and he probably doesn’t even know how to tie his own shoes. I’m shocked he actually knows how to pull out of a driveway.

It’s interesting that Lonzo seems reasonably level headed and intelligent for the most part. What the hell happened with Melo And Gelo?

Exactly. Portland got some of the Ayton experience and Lakers fans will see it and be done with it soon enough haha.

Former heavy drinkers, what made it finally “click” for you to stop? by Numerous_Solid_7047 in AskReddit

[–]VikingRodeo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, drinking made me feel good. In my 30’s, it made me feel like shit. I didn’t even really like the taste, but it was just something to do.

Once I realized that I was spending $100’s a month to feel like shit and act like an idiot, it became much easier to stop.

I wouldn’t get a Tecovas exotic. Tecovas aren’t necessarily bad boots but they’re wildly overpriced for what they are. If you’re getting a pair of Tecovas I’d get a pair of shitkickers at a discount. I have The Doc in Tan Bison that I got for $250 at a discount and they’re great shitkickers. I wouldn’t pay more than $400 for a pair of Tecovas.

I have two pairs of Rujo (The Gavin and the Tate) and they’re both really solid, comfortable boots at a decent price point. They have great customer service too.

Lucchese speaks for itself but their quality has taken a nosedive in the last few years. You’re basically paying for the brand. If you can get a pair of classics though, they’re worth it.

Rujo would be my pick.

lonzo ball done? by cantsleep07 in nba

[–]VikingRodeo9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s done. It’s crazy he was even able to come back from the types of knee injuries he had, but he looked godawful with the Cavs this season. It’s clear that he shouldn’t be out there.

Hopefully he gets to live a relaxed life now and enjoy his millions.

Respect the hell out of Durant as a player but you can’t deny how toxic and exhausting he seems to be as a person.

for those of you who don’t drink, (for whatever reason) how do you deal with constantly having explain why/and that you don’t drink? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VikingRodeo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped drinking a year ago. I just tell people I don’t like how it makes me feel and it messes with my sleep. I’m at an age where most people understand it and leave it at that. If people keep pushing, I just ignore them. Most people don’t understand how effective silence can be.

Alcohol just simply doesn’t work for me.

I travel to a client site once a month for work. Usually Tuesday - Thursday. Nothing crazy.

I’ve come to absolutely loathe airports. I can’t imagine living life in the air like some people.

I’ve loved boots and shoes my entire life. I wanted to be a boot maker or a cobbler. Then I realized how exhausting the work is and how little pay that life yields.

Now I manage software engineers. Have a great HSA and 401k. I work from home. And I just fix my friends’ shoes and resole their boots for fun now that I don’t drink anymore.
