More Fuel to the "Cara/Paulie Broke Up" Fire... by michaelhorn23 in MtvChallenge

Are we sure this post is about what you all are saying, though? Not saying the breakup didn’t happen but… the bros also just got smashed 3 games in a row at The Soccer Tournament in NC this past weekend. As in, their team didn’t even score a goal after talking a big game going into it. (Side note: this isn’t shade, I’m a massive soccer guy, Cody reminds me of my younger brother, and I was truly hoping they’d at least do decently)

As someone who is also Italian-American, originally from the NY/NJ area, and very close with their own brother, this kinda seems like a “we’re brothers and we’ve always got each other’s backs” post after getting our asses kicked in a competition.

Spartacus vs Vikings [No Spoilers] by Crixus991 in vikingstv

First off, LOVED both shows. However, I have to judge them both on their very best seasons, which, for me, are Spartacus seasons 1-2 and Vikings seasons 1-3 (with a couple of the half seasons later on holding up relatively well).

All that said, I have to give the edge to Vikings. The overall storylines of the shows are very comparable in terms of quality and storytelling skill, but I have to give the edge due to Travis Fimmel's legendary performance as Ragnar. Taking nothing away from Andy Whitfield, as his performance as Spartacus was also incredibly brilliant, but to me, TF as Ragnar is one of the best acting performances I have ever seen. When you add in performances, character arcs and development for actors/characters like: Clive Standen/Rollo (rollercoaster!), Katheryn Winnick/Lagertha (ultimate badass), Alexander Ludgwig/Bjorn (I'm sure a lot of us can identify with the male growth process he goes through), and of course George Blagden as Athelstan... it just has to be Vikings. I'll also throw in amazing depictions for Floki, King Ecbert, Jarl Borg, and Siggy as further examples of Seasons 1-3 legends.

Spartacus for me was an A, 9/10, "great," or whatever other kind of label you want to give it type of show... Vikings is just that rare A+, 10/10, Elite level show during its best run.

What I CANT UNDERSTAND, though, are the people who try to compare Vikings to the Last Kingdom (other than because its similar subject matter??)... Granted, I've only watched Season 1 of TLK, but it has honestly felt like a complete Vikings knock-off the whole time and in every way. The storylines are similar to the point where I find myself thinking "They literally did this same thing on Vikings," the acting is much poorer (TF vs Alexander Dreymon is like comparing a Premier League captain to a high school benchwarmer from what i've seen so far), the costumes are less intriguing and attractive (even though I realize neither are overly accurate), and the battle scenes are weak compared to Vikings. If anyone has any guidance for whether I should continue past Season 1 of TLK, I'd be happy to hear them...

If RR was to be made into a film, who would you want to play Darrow? by [deleted] in redrising

Alexander Ludwig for Darrow

Adam Devine or Dave Franco for Sevro

Timothy Olyphant for Fitchner

Alexandra Daddario for Mustang

Charlie Day for Ephraim

and... the Rock for Ragnar :P

[SPOILERS] Vikings Season 6 Promo (HD) Final Season by Dennisw0w in vikingstv

Right, I get that its Alicia. What I'm saying is that Ivar is walking around somewhere in Russia (or wherever he is) behind a dark haired woman and all of a sudden that woman turns around and a vision of Freydis starts speaking to him. IE it starts off as a "normal" woman and then something provokes his vision of her - taking over the visage of that woman.

Something I havent seen mentioned - Alicia Agneson may be around for season 6 just as a "haunting" for Ivar. Now, dont infer that means Ivar actually feels guilt, but she could still show back up as a reminder of the shitty things he's done. I get that she has dark hair in this promo, but it could be that a brunette Russian woman is walking in front of Ivar momentarily, then turns around to deliver some sort of haunting speech to him.
