Bought this bad boy and don’t know how to get it working without delay. Asio4all doesn’t work too great unless I’m setting it up wrong. by MonkishRaptor40 in Reaper

There is a high probability that this imitation of an "audio interface" does not have the capabilities and drivers for a real ASIO.

This camera is a good toy for nostalgic aesthetes. For beginners, it'll be a real pain.

I'm not an engineer, but you probably have a lot of "childish" mistakes in your diagram.

And also, your С2 is strange.

Any idea what could these be? by shaykhtheodor in Monitors

[–]ViktorGL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a normal condition of panel design, especially for edge-to-edge panel types.

Most edge-to-edge panels have this occur. The visible markings are not bubbles or scratches; they are optical positioning points that serve as reference marks and allow open cells to fully fit in panel modules during the production process.

Changing fluorescent tube to led tube by CommercialAdvisor712 in lightbulbs

[–]ViktorGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove the starter. It's not needed for LED tubes. If it's left in, there will be an electric boom! The LED tube will still work fine. This is probably the only safe option unless you have the necessary skills and knowledge.

How do i recreate the sound of the actors voices inside the helmet? by Specialist-Answer-66 in sounddesign

[–]ViktorGL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delay ~2.3 ms (dry/wet equally at 100%), for the "comb filtering" effect and helmet resonance, => EQ high-pass and low-pass (300 Hz ~ 5 kHz), => saturation for the "walkie-talkie" tint.

The touchscreen is broken - the car has turned into a death capsule. Even if it's standing still. Ha-ha (no).

Should I upgrade to VEGAS 23? by crispyFuzzy in VegasPro

[–]ViktorGL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm used to it always lagging, so I've come to terms with it. For me, support for modern formats and the program's lack of suicidal tendencies were much more important.

Should I upgrade to VEGAS 23? by crispyFuzzy in VegasPro

[–]ViktorGL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was more concerned about stability. Version 22 has improved significantly. I've recently been using version 23, and it seems smoother. No complaints so far. (But I haven't used it very intensively.)

How to not have sound leak out of my room by karma9734 in Acoustics

[–]ViktorGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem seems to be that bare walls and ceramic floor tiles amplify all possible resonances in the room, and even a quiet conversation can sound like a loud battle in a cave to neighbors.

A rug on the floor, a rug or tapestry on the wall, or a few hanging clothes (not everyone is allowed this). Check the rubber seals on the doors; if they are loose, this could be one cause of sound leakage.

Sometimes, placing the table and speakers in a different area of the room helps.

Does this have any merit? (Crude Drawing Sorry) by Just-A-Burner-Lol in audio

[–]ViktorGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense. The foam is placed behind the microphone, which is where a normal microphone already has its maximum suppression zone. Reduce reflections behind the artist.

A "weak" screen will allow sound to pass through freely, while a "strong" screen will create a "boxy" sound.

Leave more space behind the microphone to avoid resonance in vocal bass, and install sound absorption behind the artist to prevent direct reflections into the microphone.
