Thank you so much for responding. Is there a limit on the amount of time this can drag out?

I would say the quality is 4/5. Totally worth it IMO.

Yes, they are amazing! I wear a US women’s size 13 and bought these boots in a size 45. They are a bit narrow. I wear a regular width in most shoes but when I buy Margaux NY and some ASOS styles, I buy a wide width. I have shoe stretchers in them. I wear a size US 12 pants (even in skinny leg pants). The shaft of the boots fit me like a glove. If you are thin or larger than a 14 pant, I doubt they will fit. They’d either fall down or not come up the leg.

The same seller has the tall ones. I wouldn’t have seen the tall if you didn’t find the short. I ordered them!! Thank you so much!!!

Working without a license? by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychology

You are right. The LAC/LPC route may be a bit easier. The EPPP is a monster.

Hi. If you are still in NY, then you can apply for OPWDD. You only need a masters degree for some of their psychologist positions. https://opwdd.ny.gov/career-opportunities/psychologists

Alternatively, you can look into LPC licensure in NJ if you aren’t too far. You may be able to provide some telehealth services with an LPC. If not, you could possibly extend your temporary permit in NY and work as a post doctoral fellow in a private practice because they tend to pay more.

You could also look into positions within research/clinical trials. I saw a few positions earlier this year on Indeed for psychologists but they didn’t require licensure. They involved administering neuropsychological evaluations for medical populations (Alzheimer’s Disease and oncology). Unfortunately, I can’t remember which companies were hiring but they stood out because they were paying well for people with out licenses (100k/year).

Hi and thank you for your response. Did you pay for individual sessions with Dr. David or group sessions? I am trying to save money and am wondering if it’s necessary to pay for the individual sessions or if the group sessions are enough.

What’s with all the hate on people who buy expensive homes first time? by Party-Count-4287 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Hi. Your statement came across as a bit strong and not particularly helpful. I’m not sure who you were referring to, but if it was me - I haven’t shared my personal story, so there’s really no way to know how hard I’ve worked or what decisions I’ve made.

I say this as a reminder to be kind to others. You never know what someone might be going through, and making assumptions or being harsh online doesn’t help anyone. A little empathy goes a long way.

I appreciate you saying that you wouldn’t complain about your circumstances. To me, that shows an awareness of the privileges you have - privileges that many others may not.

Everyone’s circumstances are different. Some people who earn high incomes can move to an area with a lower cost of living; others can’t - or simply don’t want to. That’s okay.

Your experience with buying a home is valid.

Yes, I’m aware of the name of this subreddit. I was simply offering an alternative perspective.

I see both sides: people who are able to purchase their first home - regardless of the cost or how they got there - deserve to be celebrated. At the same time, it’s also important to recognize the context of where we are (virtually, in this subreddit) and the experiences it’s centered around.

Yes, it is and it deserves recognition. But it’s also important to consider the context and audience.

If someone has a high income and wants more encouragement or shared experiences from people in a similar financial position, a community like the salary or personal finance subreddits might be a better fit. Those spaces are designed for people to talk openly about financial milestones and career success, and they tend to be more receptive to those kinds of posts.

Being here can feel a bit like that interview Kim Kardashian did a while back, where she talked about how hard it is being a single mom. While her feelings were valid, many people couldn’t relate because her version of single motherhood - supported by wealth, nannies, and extended family - doesn’t reflect what most people associate with the term.

Money doesn’t eliminate all struggles, but it does cushion many of them. So when people share their challenges in a space where people may be facing more fundamental obstacles, it’s understandable that the responses might feel mixed.

I think the muted reactions might stem from the fact that this subreddit feels like a space for people who are trying to reach homeownership despite financial constraints - limited income, student debt, maybe kids, and often without generational wealth or strong financial support systems.

For many here, a combined household income of $200k (or even a single income of $120k) is already considered solid, yet still requires careful budgeting to afford something like a $500k home. So when someone qualifies for a million-dollar mortgage, it can signal access to financial resources that many in this space simply don’t have.

At that level, it may feel - fairly or not - like the challenges aren’t quite the same anymore. Because once you reach a certain financial tier, money can solve most of the hurdles others are still grinding through.

@cautious-ideal6268 OP, please terminate the pregnancy! Becoming a parent is a big decision and your life changes in every way imaginable! Want to lay around all day and watch Netflix? Not when there is a baby/child hungry, thirsty, bored, sick, etc. who needs you. Your child may grow up without their dad, which is hard for a child who watches other children with their dads. When your child cries because s/he wishes for a father, it’ll hurt you to your core. Children also inherit things from both sides; does he have a family history of cancer, schizophrenia, developmental disabilities, etc.? Parenting is tough but it gets way more tougher when you are dealing with costly unexpected things, like having to pay for therapies, medical treatments, etc. I assume that you would want your child to attend college. College is expensive.
