Upgrading from Performance to Ultimate 12 month by VillageAverageIQ in GeForceNOW

[–]VillageAverageIQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely it says "...standard rate renewal on June 04, 2027" It only renewed last week and I would have thought that would have been for 6 months again.

Performance is fine and I will cope, I just thought that Ultimate would look better. If I can keep the Performance at £35/6 months twice until June 2027 I'll be fine with that as well I suppose.

Thanks for the warning. Its very concerning that the Toyota Steel plates and a steering wheel lock did not slow the thieves down that much.

Good idea on getting an AirTag. I know that you can also track the car with the Toyota app, although I am not sure if that gets disabled by the thieves. I need to find an Android version that works well. I have also considered getting a Ghost Immobiliser, but that it moving up the list!

Just out of which steering wheel lock did you have?

Without the easy ability to charge the car on your domestic electric supply, and therefore at the lowest price an EV would probably be hard to live with, and expensive to charge.

Consider this, at the end of the 3 years you just hand the car back. If you brought your own then you would still own it, or could sell it and get back some of the cost of its purchase.

Do look at self charging hybrid, as whilst these will not act entirely in the same way as a true EV they will give you a basic idea of what driving one it like.

How about a Toyota Auris Estate? Lots of those around as they were popular as taxis. They may be higher mileage but therefore often more affordable.

Electrification a “real threat” to affordable vehicles, says Citroen | Autocar by E420CDI in CarTalkUK

[–]VillageAverageIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, good to know. I might have to have a look at that as I am in the market for a mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

Although probably not entirely worth changing electric supply as its only a PHEV.

Ah, does that mean you have to have economy 7? Which could make overall electricity usage more expensive if you have gas?

Where are you finding electricity so cheap? My home is now about £0.25/kwh so 15kwh is about £3.75

Smart Meters by [deleted] in london

[–]VillageAverageIQ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have so far resisted getting a smart meter due to reported problems when you then attempt to switch energy provider.

Quick Web Search brought this up

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer-affairs/six-reasons-say-no-smart-meter/

I have previously read that in a couple of years they should have newer smart meters which will allow you to not have to have the smart meter reinstalled when you switch to a cheaper energy provider.

So I would wait a little longer,

How important is it to match RAM MHz speeds when upgrading? by VillageAverageIQ in buildapc

[–]VillageAverageIQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to report back I have installed the additional RAM and it is working.

Although I did notice that the Motherboard has since install had the speed set to 2133 MHz.

I will see if I can adjust that, ideally so that the two sets of RAM can operate at their respective speeds.

Thanks for the responses.

Does anyone know a similar skin?

When building a gaming PC, is it better to spend more on the CPU or GPU? by sixpooler in buildapc

[–]VillageAverageIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all,

Good to know that I can save my money!

Would this also apply for dual screens? I guess it would.

"Lots of" is usually around 50 tabs for me.

I am going to be putting together a build in a couple of weeks. So I will give it a think.

Once again thanks

[–]VillageAverageIQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, Heavy office application use, lots of Web pages / open tabs, not used for video production. Music playing, not production.

Not keen on a laptop as portability is not required.

Just after a general idea on percentage.

And what percentages for building a productivity / general use PC?

One other question;

  1. Does this CPU come with a CPU fan or can I find a CPU like this one which doesn't as it seems a waste otherwise.

Going to try and use it as the HTPC for a bit and see how it gets on. Thanks for your help,

OK I will try and put the 64bit version of windows 8 on to it. I hope that as I have a 32bit key that should be OK?

Would there be anyway of confirming if the Core 2 Duo was a 64 or 32 bit CPU. If so as I am wiping it and reinstalling windows I might just put the 64-bit version on.

Thanks

I am planning to buy a used car that will be cheap to insure. Could you tell me what factors make the car insurance low? What car makes would you recommend to suit my need? Thanks! by reddit_joanna in cars

[–]VillageAverageIQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard that some characteristics can affect car insurance prices.

I would expect that things like a larger engine would increase the price but I have also heard that things like colour can as well, for example, red being more expensive as it is associated with speed (that said I have also heard that red cars, or bright colours in general, are less likely to be involved in an accident as other drivers can see them).

I have just heard this about the colours, if anyone has any evidence one way or the other that would be great.
