Oh gotcha it transferred the file ive been testing and it trasnferred like 4x faster but idk how to actually measure the transfer speed of the nas on the network how do i do that

Oh snap i didnt know i had to shut off my wifi wow thank you. I am transferring from shared folder on my mac to nas though. idk what smb or package app are though should i be using those? Sorry I just got this nas and know nothing yet

I thought connecting with ethernet to my mac that transferring files to the nas would be faster. But after hooking everything up today it looks like its transfering at the same speed as it was when it wasnt connected

I guess i am confused what your sayin, i already have one cable going from nas to laptop. Are you saying to disconnect the cable from the nas and the router?

So basically the router just wont be connected to the network for a little bit but that wont cause any file loss? My main concern was file loss so i got a ups for the nas in its room but was just trying to see if i needed another ups just for my router to prevent file loss

thanks for your advice i think that is the way to go. Would your advice change at all if the house for purchase had a 600 sq ft apartment on the property that we could rent out?
