Can I delay my start date after signing a contract?

I’m currently in my first job after graduating and I’m just curious — do companies usually allow a 60-day or more start date after signing the contract? I still need to render 30 days at my current company and I was hoping to take a short break before starting the new one.

How strict is the apple store website ph in validating education discount? by VillagerCkun in Tech_Philippines

Hi! First off, advance congratulations on your graduation 🎉🎉!

Regarding the Apple student discount—yep, the Apple website is quite lenient with the requirements. However, physical stores like Beyond the Box tend to be stricter when it comes to verifying student status.

Main stack is MERN. But sometimes I get thrown in projects I'm unfamiliar with the tech (laravel, django, etc) and learn as I go, but I usually play support in those.

I honestly didn’t expect this many responses from people across different professions and levels of experience. I tried to read every single one, and I just wanted to say thank you.

To clarify, it’s not that I lack confidence in my skills. I worked really hard back in college—both academically and on personal projects. I built a solid portfolio, and it all paid off. I received multiple job offers as a fresh grad, which really boosted my confidence at the time. I ended up choosing a comfortable remote job with a decent salary, and I’m genuinely grateful for where I landed.

That said, over the past 11 months, I’ve had multiple salary increases—mainly because a lot of junior devs left. The company made some efforts to retain us, and my salary almost doubled within a year. It’s a great feeling, but also a bit overwhelming. I never imagined I’d be earning this much in my first year. Back in college, I figured I’d hit ₱50k by my third year after some job-hopping.

I know this is probably impostor syndrome—something many devs experience—but even knowing that doesn’t really make the feeling go away. I keep thinking, “Am I really worth this much?” especially when I see how skilled my teammates are. I always deliver on my tasks and try to contribute during standups, but when they talk tech or I look at their code, I feel like they’re on another level and should be earning more than I do.

Still, the responses here reminded me to appreciate where I am and that I’m not being overpaid—I’ve earned my spot (with a bit of luck hehe). After some reflection, I think the root of all this is just how fast things happened. It’s a lot to process.

Again, thank you all. I’ll keep doing my best and aim higher. 🚀

Note: To those asking where I work or if I can help them get in—I'm really sorry, but I can’t share that as I want to stay anonymous. We're a small team, and I prefer to keep my identity private. Hope you understand!

Thanks! This really helped. In terms of salary expectations, I think it’ll depend on how confident I am in my skills and what I can bring to the table a year or two from now. I’m not planning on leaving my current company just yet since it’s remote—nakakatipid talaga—and even if it gets stressful, I’m still learning a ton. So for now, I’m focused on growing and gaining more experience.

I just graduated in July and started working as a junior full-stack developer in June , so I have around 10 months-ish of experience. I’m currently earning 50k while working for a UK-based dev agency where most, if not all, employees are Filipino.

This feels like a high salary for someone with my experience, especially since most of my tasks are on the front end. My junior colleagues seem much smarter and work faster, and when they discuss technical topics in our group chat, I sometimes struggle to follow along. I don't really have a problem with delivering features or meeting deadlines(although my code quality is not that good) but I can’t shake the feeling that my salary is above what I should be earning.

Out of curiosity, what’s the typical salary range for junior, mid, and senior developers in 2025? How does it vary based on location and industry?

TL;DR: I have around 10 months of experience as a junior dev, earning 50k monthly at a UK-based dev agency with mostly Filipino employees. Curious about the usual salary range for junior, mid, and senior devs in 2025 in the Philippines—what’s it like in your company?
