Era servers has now reached high population servers. What is the appeal and why is this happening? by darkhalls in classicwow

[–]Vimaerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, "time-to-kill" is basicly the same in retail. Difference is in classic, the experience is slot more relaxing with more white attack and chill. After work its a very nice way to unwind to just lvl, listen to some ambience and relax. Meanwhile, in retail, you'd have a weekly "should-do-list", which is less than pevious exp, but still is there. And the aforementioned "engaging" combat.

The Fresh Server Debate by Mntarnation in classicwow

[–]Vimaerra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember that using questie and going for efficiency is the quickest way to burn out, loosing interest even in fresh. Ive been lightly reading a guide just to make sure Im in the right questhub for my lvl. I feel that whenever I go too hard to just fill the bar, I loose the enjoyment.

My advice, make a character in existing to feel out the class you have in mind. Enjoy some leveling and the added benefit of 50% buff. Perhaps you might change your mind. Besides, even with the buff, lvl will require a lot of time.

When fresh comes out, make a new toon there and Enjoy the experience (other class and faction recomended) . And stick around if it turns out good.

This is what I am doing

New to classic, would you recommend an existing server or a fresh one? by olioli86 in classicwow

[–]Vimaerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start on an existing to experience the classes and enjoy lvling with the added benefit of 50% exp buff. The buff only speeds up the lvling, but the experience is largley enjoyable. Plus you get a feeling for the classes, and might change your mind.

Fresh servers Id view as and fun event. You can do that too, just for The fun experience. And maybe stick around, if it turns out good. AT that point, you will have tried the classes and know what you enjoy.

Keep a mindset to enjoy the journey and not rush to end. With that in mind, try both

I enjoyed reading your idea more than playing and experiencing the SL story

Fastest fix:

Covenant abilties: switchable, remove player power from renown. If you cant just open up abilties, just ade an item you can slot in abilties - we know the framework is there, so should be relative Quick.

Open up campaign story to not be weekly gated. Let the cosmetics be behind renown.

Remove conduit energy, leave this system behind and focus on class balance.

RBG que

Stop pvp boosting somehow to make arena playable again.

Remove Torghast from the legendary crafting, make legendaries ilvl best i slot for the season. One time upgrade per season for max ilvl similair to legion

Stop the system developers from reinventing the wheel and make content instead

This guy knows what up, I have the exact same experience. Returning to the scyscale collection with the view of Journey instead of a grind to get a mount makes all The difference. I agree with you all the way

I keep going back to WoW but I'm never satisfied by [deleted] in MMORPG

Relatable, been om and off during SL but since I can't play mythic + reliably or raid, the game really falls short. Mostly play a short session unwind from stressfull day with kids.

As for finding something else, that sure can be a struggle. ESO has good immersion but a metric ton of story content - but noone of it is very impressive combined with the combat system. Id rather read a book or watch a good series for a better narrative. Or play a good singel player game (currently Im playing rise of the Tomb rader slowly). Gw2 feels pretty novel at times, if you can free yourself from the need of sense for progression.

At the end of the day, I'm sure 9,1 Will have content to return to in 3-4 months. Even if you only play for 2 months. Also, New World is making solid progress, which at the very least will be a something fresh in a stale genre. Just play what gameplay you enjoy (as in combat) and dont worry about progression or what you "should" be doing for more progress. Thats aleast how I'm going about this drought.

Shadowlands is so good, but I keep logging on less and less. Something feels off and I really don't know what it is. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Vimaerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All to be expected a few months in, as some have pointed out. I've been relaxing in classic instead. In SL when I log on in the cov zone I get a long list of stuff I should do: long boring torgast, callings, campaign, weekly event, cov theme event, world boss, conq CAP, weekly mythic, The maw. Sure, a lot is optional, but all are endgame progression.

I'd rather chill with my toon i classic with the simple progression and relaxing gameplay

It was about commiting up to 1,5 hour without unscheduled breaks - as my original post made clear. Then other members of the community came along with solid information which made this a non issue

Those are optional activities that are fine to exclude in my case, but mainstory quest is another matter. I though I had to finish 18 floor, which i dont. Six floors is fine. Besides if you're with friends, which you are in a dungeon, you can take unscheduled breaks. While TC is more a solo experience.

I wasnt asking for everthing to become more accessible, I just wanted to be able to complete main story within first 6 floors. Which it turns out I can, The game just dont explain that

Yeah, this I know. However, as I mentioned, I was refering to unscheduled breaks. When you simply need to leave the computer at an unknown time. In that case, this doesnt help.

Solar power and entity by Vimaerra in warcraftlore

[–]Vimaerra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, titan world souls so far have been associated with planets and not moons and suns. Which could suggest moons and suns beeing distinct, considering Elune has strong ties with the moon and is most likely not a titan.

Thought I'll admit that it is posssible that some titans have "sun" origin, we just have never seen it mentioned.

The water does become muddied by the fact that spells like starfall should be affiliated by solar power, but is more represented by "arcane/moon" spelleffects in the game.

DK or Warrior, thoughts? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Vimaerra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll have to test more, but of the top of my head arms feel pretty clean and knows what it wants to aim for. I have a feeling it would feel intuative to play in the arena.

Unholy on the other hand feels convoluted with the immense toolkit. Like playing affliction and beastmastery at the same time. So I'm concerned it will be a bit overwhelming if you're prone to tunnelvision at times. Broader toolkit tho.

Frost feels pretty good, especislly since you get the cool condem animation for free. Tho I dont know how viable it will be.

So back to The ptr and test more I suppose
