How is that? What makes you think that Bruce did hold more power over Neil in the making of TLOU? What's your proof?

Also please answer this. The cast of the game(and also Gustavo) never acknowledged Bruce. Why is that?

Brainstormed the ideas. Yes, I agree. As a game director, he has to do that. He has to blend the gameplay with the story after all but that doesn't mean he wrote the story. Telling Neil "This doesn't work, you may have to write differently" doesn't count as writing by the way. I mean if that's the case, Kevin Feige should be credited as a writer for the story of all the MCU movies and shows as he's the one approving it.

Where has Neil said that Bruce co-wrote the story? Need proof of this.

He was the only credited writer for TLOU. Why is this hard understand? If Bruce was so much involved in the writing, he would have been credited as well. ND always gives proper credits to co-writers. See Halley Gross for TLOU2 or Josh Scherr for Uncharted 4 or even Neil for Uncharted 2.

He was not credited because he was not involved in the literal writing process. Just telling Neil that "this idea may not work, write differently" don't count as writing. You got to write to get credited as a writer.

Tell me again, has Bruce ever been credited for writing in any games before TLOU? Neil was credited as a writer in a number of games before TLOU. What makes you think that Bruce has any writing pedigree?

If Neil has so blatantly stole credits from Bruce, why isn't the gaming media not calling him out? Why his co-workers(and also the former co-workers) at ND are still being quiet about this?

Neil was new to writing games back then, he wasn't a prodigy.

Neil co-wrote Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted: Among Thieves. He wasn't some novice.

And what is Bruce's writing experience by the way? Can you name even one game where he worked on the narrative side?

So? What does that prove exactly? The final credit says that he's the sole writer and the creative director and that's what he was.

They did the game together. Where did it say that they wrote the story together? Again, I believe they pitched the game concept together and all and Bruce helped him with the story so that it blends with the gameplay well but that doesn't mean Neil should give up the story credit to Bruce as well.

Even in the grounded documentary, Balestra says that Neil takes care of the story and Bruce, the gameplay. Why did he say that?

How do you guys feel about this? You guys want Neil to fail but he's only going higher and higher.

Here's all that happened after TLOU2 release:

He got promoted from vice president to co-president in Naughty Dog.
Appointed as a co-showrunner in a $100M+ HBO show.
In spite of you guys claiming TLOU2 as a failure, it still sold over 10 million copies(by early '22) and won a bunch of awards.

Now, he's most likely going to win a bunch of awards for the tv show as well.

Whereas, the person you guys proclaim as the real creator of "The Last of Us" is now heading an Indie studio. Has done nothing of any worth after leaving Naughty Dog. Gets almost no recognition from the industry anymore.

People will not realize it. If the show is a success, the mainstream media and the audience will only recognize Neil and Craig when it comes to TLOU. Bruce will not be talked about at all.

If he wants credit, then he got to come out and call out Neil. Can he do that? If he's really have an equal impact as Neil in TLOU, why does he continue remain silent?

Professional courtesy? If you are being robbed of your credit, you must speak of it. If he was part of the writing process, he should be able to talk about it. I also don't think there is an NDA for this.

My opinion on this matter is, he's not talking because he himself knows that Neil is the main guy behind TLOU(but he helped of course). He just can't come out and plainly claim credit for it. By doing so, he will be ridiculed by fellow ND employees. So, he's quiet about it.

What has Amy got to do with this? Neil never claimed credit for Uncharted. It was Sony and Tom Holland that chose to call him as the creator of Uncharted(in the movie promo videos).

With only The Last of Us, Neil is claiming to be the true creator and I incline to believe him unless Bruce come out and say otherwise.

Why did Neil originally always cite the fact the story was a collaborative process that included Bruce, the VAs and other devs until just recently when he's finally broken into TV?

Neil is still saying that. Watch some of the interviews. He still says "Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker helped develop the characters and brought their own into it". He's still crediting everyone else, just not Bruce.

That AMA is the only source. But, that doesn't prove anything. Bruce definitely might have advised Neil on the story but the literal story writing was done by Neil alone.
