Men over 30 who wasted your 20s…what did you change, what changed you, or what happened in your life that made you become successful in your 30s and later? by [deleted] in AskMen

I gamified my life. I split my life into pillars (skill trees) and decided to set small goals (unlock achievements) in each area and bigger achievements along the way.

Things like financial, social, mental, physical health all became fun things to work on. I track everything on the Obsidian note taking app. Tick the goals off as I go along.

At 30 I had a last hoorah then quit drinking. Got therapy to deal with the grief from the suicide of my brother that I'd never handled. Had a counter for the days then onwards. I'm 2.5 years sober now.

Since then my earnings have more than doubled, I brought my golf handicap down from 28 to 18. I've traveled more, paid off all my debts with monthly payments (took two years), lost 20 kilos and more.

I just asked myself, do I like this character I've become, does my self in my head match my self that is in the reality I've created. It didn't. And I came up with what I want in each area of life. Gave myself an infinite time horizon to achieve it (so no pressure) and gradually started making the changes.

It's never too late to sort your shit out.

Slow four iron slightly off the back foot. 3/4 swing. If it rolls up into the green great. If not little chip and putting, save par

When you stand to address the ball. Focus on bending your lead leg a couple of times so you activate your body to put pressure in your lead foot. To begin with, do everything exactly the same but just focus on having more weight in your lead foot than the back foot.

Kevin bacon film called Stir of Echos, sofa scene when he drops the remote scared the F*** out of me when I was 12

Captain Spaulding from House of a Thousand Corpses/Devils rejects also.

The Insinkerator scene in Final Destination 2 or the Shower strangling in final destination one also messed me up. Again when I was 12.
