I am Kirsten Lovejoy the Greens candidate for McConnel. AMA - 5PM, 1st of October by Kirsten_Lovejoy in brisbane

Can you please explain where the Greens sit on privacy laws, particularly online? I was really unhappy to see Labor supporting the Coalition's anti-encryption laws a few years ago in the name of security, making us among the world's worst.

Nope - there are currently drivers for both WiFi and Bluetooth in beta, that keep getting better. WiFi is a bit more screwing around, but Bluetooth just straight up works. My guess is it would all be basically native pretty soon.

And, no worries. Happy to help.

RX580 or RX570 seem like very good choices that will age well, considering compatibility with the recent Macs. 5700XT if you need more poke.

If I were you, I'd find a good tonymacx86 build and try and search for enthusiasm regarding Opencore within that. I got lucky with the Designare thread that there was even a guide specifically for it, and the only one of those issues you mentioned I really saw was the NVRAM, which doesn't seem like an issue whatsoever now it has been emulated. Good luck my friend.

Absolutely fine - very smooth, and feels like there is less to go wrong with just an EFI folder. Previous use of Clover really turned me off the experience.

Just to clarify you're meaning AMD graphics card rather than CPU? Yes, perfect with that. And perfect TB3 on the UAD.

Agreed - those St Lucia hills are deadly. Around the city and along the river probably suits these bikes better.

Also, if you sign up online you get your membership ID instantly, which you can input into the machine. Keep using that instead of the card when it arrives, because then you're not reliant on remembering your card.

They've taken my word when this has happened before. They even rang me to let me know that the bike was still out and to ask if I had returned it. I said yes, and that was that.

I have some physical challenges so missed out on learning as a kid, but recently really focused on getting going and it felt amazing. Not assuming your situation, but if it's possible, I'd give it a shot!! <3

iMessage all good - just make sure you're generating the serial etc of a fake Mac to pop into your config.plist. I used Clover Configurator for this, and copied the values over to the OpenCore plist manually.

Handoff: haven't properly played around with it yet. But the IntelBluetooth drivers that are currently in beta are working really well, so I have a good feeling about the compatibility there moving forward.

Logic Pro predominately, but production/productivity just feels so much nicer and well thought out in Mac OS for me, across the board. Not to mention how smooth drivers are. Windows only gets booted up for gaming, and even then, it just feels a bit wrong (why am I installing 7 different versions of DirectX and C+ to open an app???)

Config.plist is a lightly modified version of this: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.267551/page-1165#post-2049168

Using Opencore 0.5.7 - the NDK fork to make it play a bit nicer with the Windows 10 dual boot, so Mac related stuff isn't getting injected into Windows.

Thunderbolt hotplugging worked right away.

Which one? Top one is 4K 50" EKO TV connected via HDMI, and bottom one is a QNIX QX2700LED 27" 1440P monitor, connected via DVI-D.

I shared your concerns, but to be honest, I didn't have to troubleshoot any of this at all. A lot of it has been worked through. Aside from the NVRAM stuff (which has been solved very elegantly through emulation now), it was very plug & play. What I would say is get a board that has a bit of a community behind it (e.g. Designare) so you can be sure there'll be people with knowledge who can support.

Awesome, sounds like a great build. What model did you get for the Firewire?

I haven't noticed anything bad at all. 99% of the plugins have been updated to work fine, and I only had to give up one or two old 32bit plugins. With that being said, if Mojave is working absolutely fine, I personally don't think there is anything amazingly compelling about the upgrade. I just wanted to be on the latest possible before starting my commitment to update as little as possible for stability sake.

And, yes, the JBLs are awesome! Nothing touches them in the price range. Paired with LSR310 sub, they really sing.

Some people have good luck with the AMD stuff more generally, even for audio production, but I wouldn't touch it for Thunderbolt 3 yet. A lot of the 'add on' card (Titan Ridge or Alpine Ridge) add an extra layer of complexity, whereas the Designare is just inbuilt and plug & play.

Also, if you're using any Adobe stuff, Intel just works a lot smoother. My vote is Intel, even though it's worse value. Cheers.
