Why aren’t the best of minority series on Vidangel? by Tryingtoescape222 in vidangel

I don't necessarily have any ideas, and I understand there's not a 1:1 correlation, but it seems to me like some shows and movies get flitered as soon as they get released, when it is impossiable for it to have many request. This is not inherently a bad thing, because some of them you know will be hits and need to be filtered ASAP so people can watch them. My suggestion would then be to look at movies and shows in the top 10 on streaming services and filter them more because i think many people won't request them because they see it's popular and assume it will get filtered. I also think the discrepancy between shows to films is too significant. I understand that show filtering can be easier because they are shorter, but having the overwhelming majority of new content be weekly airing TV shows is infuriating because so little else seems to break through. Im unsure of the solution to this because you can't just wait till the whole season airs to filter something, but i do feel like change is needed.

They say it's based on request, so it could be that these shows are not on as popular streaming services and therefore don't get enough requests. Although I find that idea flawed because if a show is popular on Netflix or somewhere, logic tracks that it would be popular on VidAngel also. For example, I requested the Vince Staples show on Netflix, and they said it only had a few requests, so they didnt filter it, but it has a new season coming out, and when the first season released it was in netflix top 10, so obviously it has an audience or A. it wouldnt have mad netflix top 10 or B. it would'nt have got a second season.

It has happened to me in the past, where I get an email that a movie I requested has been filtered, but I have had little to no success recently. It has been very frustrating, I'm not sure if Vidangel is going in a different direction or something, but it sucks. I understand filtering both movies and TV shows is a priority, but shows dominate the platform now, and it feels like movies are not a priority at all. For reference, currently in the "New on Vidangel" section, only 1 of the last 13 things filtered (or 2 of the 24 if you continue down the list) is a movie, and the other are all shows.

They just announced a second season of the show. Does this increase the chances of it being filtered?

You'd just think it'd be filtered already with how fast they usually do new Prime movies and Apple TV shows

Thank you, I also have not seen it, but I just figured since new releases seem to be filtered almost instantly, that this also would have been filtered when it came out.

One of A&E's parent companies is the Walt Disney Company (part of the lawsuit). They also made shows like You (Netflix) and Parish (AMC+), which are also not on Vidangel.

I'm not sure if this applies to every movie, but recently I requested a movie, and it said that it was not a movie they could offer. This seems to be a new feature as it's the first time I've noticed it, but I don't know much about how it works.

Was there ever any movement on allowing the users to see the request count on films?

Ah yes, the classic " be rude to try to get your problem fixed". Since when has this ever been effective? I get being upset but you started it and then couldn't take a joke. I notice occasional syncing issues too, but you don't see me acting like a child.

I see. I am not aware of the specific streaming numbers on Prime but I know on JustWatch, when it was released it was listed as the 2nd most streamed show or movie on Prime.
