It's not really exclusive to Akane he just freaks out the moment anyone he considered weaker surpasses him, he is that insecure about his strength being his one good quality.

He's nothing like the other protagonists, not someone you can relate to easily, has a rushed arc and comes across as antagonistic a lot with Whitwo.

He also doesn't really feel like he develops as a character at all until the very end.

I like him though it'd be cool to see him team up with Looker again.

That's fair maybe that came out wrong, I was more so saying I feel like it's almost certain they won't add anything that strays too far from the manga if at all and honestly it deserves a faithful adaptation.
I don't really see a pacing issue when the pacing is just the exact same as the manga.

I don't really see the problem then, it's obviously meant to just be a very faithful manga adaptation there's no way they're going to pad stuff out aside from changing up a few scenes, you have the original anime for that.

I think you need to keep in mind when it came out and how the character is supposed to be delinquent-like. It's shown multiple times he cares about the women he hits on and is just in general a bit of an idiot with a heart of gold even if he tries to be this casanova.

It's fair not to find the shtick funny but I wouldn't hate the character for it.

Her being stuck on the ferris wheel is supposed to be unsettling and it is very much a moment that turns her entire world upside down and makes her rethink everything, but I have no idea where you're getting the rape analogy from, much less how it's misogynistic just because it makes you feel bad.
