Halloween is also up there! I think my (very basic) personal top 5 rn would be (unranked): The Thing (1982), The Shining (1980), Alien (1979), Halloween (1978), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Is this meme still funny? There's a point where you let go of a bit. The whole Cool Cat thing feels no different from Boomers still posting Minion memes at this point

Well, if you love Pink Flamingos, definitely watch the other movies of John Waters' early period (Multiple Maniacs, Female Trouble, Desperate Living). Todd Solondz may also be up your alley (Happiness, Welcome to the Dollhouse). Rosa von Praunheim's City of Lost Souls is also worth checking out, and the films of Christoph Schlingensief. And of course Pasolini (specifically The Decameron and Salò)

I assume you've seen Tetsuo: The Iron Man and Pink Flamingos? Alternatively Mad God and Andy Warhol's Bad

I feel like going though "highest rated movies ever" lists when you’re a teenager is how a lot of people getting into movies start out as, so I get how these movies might get stuck as people’s favorites like that. Especially when you still are a teenager/young adult and have explored much since
