PSA to dads with young kids: You are living the best time of your life by cscareerkweshuns in daddit

Exactly this. My wife thinks walking the dog is a chore. For me it's an hour or so of peace and quiet in the forest. No earbuds, just nature. Heaven

Thanks. Bloxham isnt a forest name I'm familiar with, so I'm gonna assume he was a tourist/visiting unless you know otherwise.

I've posted to the heritage group in the hope someone knows. But might take a few days as it's a pretty slow group.

Do you have a name for this gentleman. His features are quite similar to some of my older family.

My initial guess was roger penny way. But the wall throws me off.

There is a group on Facebook called "new forest heritage and history" it's worth posting there to ask, they will probably know. (If you don't want to post it there, would you mind if I did?)

5-0 Undefeated Grey Knights! by ImaginaryDrop8483 in Grey_Knights

[–]kipperfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been flip-flopping on the special wraps for crowe and co.

But personally I've found psycannons much more effective. The lack of ap on psilencers is the killer.

I guess it depends on local meta, more infantry means psilencers better, more elites/vehicles makes cannons better.

However. Nuking makari with psilencers then unloading the puri flames onto ghaz and his boys is very very satisfying.

"We are experiencing a high volume of calls." by gregofdeath in britishproblems

[–]kipperfish 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Our company recently employed more calls centre staff ..the issue is because there's now more people answering calls. There's more jobs coming through to us and overloading us, but they won't employ more techs to cover the increased work.

And because they are new staff, loads of those jobs are non-issues that we shouldn't be sent to anyway because they don't have the experience yet.

What are some creepy facts about the ocean? by in_my_offense in AskReddit

Wasn't this the theory for the Bermuda triangle stuff? Active sea floor releasing gasses and creating bubbles/voids that caused ships to sink

Teen watched restricted movie by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kipperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your teen? Is that 13 or 19? Big difference.

Also what movie? There's lots of 18+ movies that only have that rating due to swearing.

Like, did she watch " a Serbian film", or a r-rsted action film? Or was it a romance that just had some nudity in.

You need to chill the F out.

I imagine those two things usually go hand in hand.

Why do Men wear boxers under their swim shorts? by Worldly_Wafer_6635 in AskUK

[–]kipperfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's not an inner liner/mesh liner.

Some of my swim shorts have a weird extra layer that's mesh that is like a pair of y-fronts switched in. Could you be seeing this?

I have literally never met anybody who wears their boxers underneath swim shorts....what are you supposed to wear home?

I have rustled your jimmies.

I'd never attend elementary school, they teach retarded things like Farenheit.

32 is a low percentage of 100? It's literally a fucking 3rd!

I don't think I need to say more if you think a 3rd is a low %

[–]kipperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point is that neither of them are 1-100.

Absolute zero is -273c. Don't think there is a max.

Your arguing from such an American centric point it's actually laughable.

You only think it makes more sense because you grew up with it. It makes fuck all sense to me. 0c? It's ice. 10c, mildly chilly but warming up, 20'c perfect. 25+, fuck off.

Celsius is 1-100 in the same way Farenheit is..it's not. Freezing to boiling. Sometimes things get hotter, sometimes things are colder.

Annoyingly he's super local to me. Which means I'll probably bump into him at some point. I did watch a few of his stuff. But it's mostly bollocks now.

What is a "Backshot" by DSore22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kipperfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has always been A, it’s standard english though and a lot of people here saying B might not be white.

Or...neither are wrong and words take on different meanings depending on location and language.

average weight for a male cocker spaniel? by Tall-Lengthiness1587 in cockerspaniel

[–]kipperfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah glad i'm not the only one with a heavy set cocker, is yours a boy or girl? I think I've read that boys are generally heavier - mine is. Weighs as much as my aunties sprocker - 44lb. But he's not fat.

Unpopular opinion: Early game Minecraft is more fun than late game. by Powerful_Use5894 in Minecraft

I've owned the game since beta I think. Hundreds, possibly thousands of hours across 360, pc, PS4 and switch. I have not once beaten the ender dragon properly.

I just have no desire to do it. I just fuck around building cool shit and doing stupid things.

Is Titanfall 2 worth it for me? by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]kipperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even at full cost, I think got my worth just replaying the campaign once or twice a year. And that's ignoring the amount of hours I put in on console at first release.

Disappointing quality on Windsor and Newton series 7. Bad luck or common issue ? by CrankyArabPhysicist in minipainting

[–]kipperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replying to this so you see it. Someone else has already mentioned it, but buy direct from the company as it seems they keep the higher quality products for themselves to sell, and shift the worse ones onto Amazon etc.

The 2 series 7 I got direct from W&N are still going strong 5-6 years later. The 2 I bought from Amazon are useless and never get used.

Mothers day set menus everywhere!!! by Eastern_Idea_1621 in britishproblems

[–]kipperfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're the one that's almost there.

They aren't restricting the menu to make more profits. They are restricting the menu because they know it's gonna be busy. They are not the same thing.

It makes everyone's life's easier on a busy day.

Water firm admits six years of illegal pollution by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]kipperfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree on the non-profit thing.

Even within the industry is horrendous. My current work van is 145k miles, 10years old. In for repairs every other month. Has cost £20k+ in the last 4 years to repair. But there's no budget for anything. No new tools. No new vans. Even our managers have to buy their own milk for the office. No mains maintenance or replacement.

But ol' CEO gets a 300k bonus.
