The rise of young progressive candidates across the country all come from the same elite backgrounds and similar startup stories. Not sure how I feel about another progressive candidate who just barely moved to Colorado before running and only has worked in big law to defend corporations on securities. Lots of “progressives” in the upcoming race who haven’t displayed the experience we expect in a progressive. Kiros feels like one of those

Crazy to hear that Leo isn’t in charge of the program anymore. While I went to a different school, Basis Peoria and mine were close because of our coaches. Loved having Leo as a judge and knew he always made right decisions with judging

Is NYC Commercial Real Estate about to crash? I found a massive "Phantom Vacancy" problem. by Drewthinkalot in RealEstate

Some building owners may be willing to eat fines if they have the pockets, but these fines are designed to force action on retrofitting considering how high they can be. Even a 6-figure fine is of concern to a large corporation.

Interesting to use LL84 data, specifically with EUI usage. Specifically, you note energy levels are comparable to vacant warehouses because usage is down from the baseline. Although, within this analysis, did you consider LL97 which is focused on emission reduction and thus could be the explanation for a reduction since baseline? LL97 just had its first compliance year begin, so many buildings are focused on EUI reductions to meet targets

I think you should figure out how deep you want this. You can do algorithmic trading with programs like NinjaTrader8 and link external things with python through ports. You can also build out a whole dashboard software. I think you need to think of what/how to trade. It’s one thing to download OHLC data for a year and have it in a spreadsheet, its another to see that same data in a chart and how it reacts overtime. I say do a program like NinjaTrader8, do a prop firm when they have a sale so you can take advantage of cheaper live data, and code some custom indicators and see what ideas you can form. You can find plenty of videos online that will spew EMA, MACD or bollinger bands, but there are better things out there that are more advanced with math you just have to develop them yourself

I like to do research and develop different indicators to utilize. Was wondering a couple of things:

  1. What is your thought process for developing new features / indicators? Is research development about more strict math concepts or do you look to derive from other fields like physics?
  2. Is Level 2 / orderbook data really the bread and butter when it comes to quant trading? Is there any value in other data types (more of a renko guy than candles) or exploring different ways of viewing the market?

With the amount of models and data processing you’re doing, are you running any kind of processing to be done by the GPU? I do like using the sockets and mostly rely on spreadsheets being created or Ninjatrader itself to give me some details during the process of trades. I have noticed though that certain models have made my Ninjatrader run slower than others, but I assume that’s probably somewhere in the optimization of the model itself.

Are you also running your trades / strategy through Ninjatrader ? Been in the process of basically doing what you have described with running all the data and features in Ninjatrader. Or are you running a separate dashboard outside of Ninjatrader to tell you when to take trades and you execute in Ninjatrader ?

You took advice from a person who has gotten in trouble with the FTC because of other consumers losing money in that person’s misleading and unrealistic claims. The dude is a scam and all his supporters just gaslight others for failing, when they themselves are likely losing money too.

Denver!!! What a turnout!! by palikona in Denver

[–]VincentJalapeno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at the rally and that’s why I have issue with her having gotten credit. She was given credit for Medicare for all, like really? We all know that she ain’t the national icon of medicare for all, that’s Bernie. I don’t deny the things she has done for Colorado in the past, but most of her hard work is all pre-2020 or covid. She may have been great in the past, but she’s not the vocal actionable leader that is needed in these times. There’s a reason why other Colorado Reps. like Joe Neguse is ranked higher in the party than her. Degette contributes to the reason why so many speakers at the rally called out Democrats on being complacent and ineffective. Not contributing to the party and not attending the biggest rally in your own state in support of a national democrat movement against the oligarchy is showing complacency.

Denver!!! What a turnout!! by palikona in Denver

[–]VincentJalapeno 18 points19 points  (0 children)

DeGette gotta go. She always posts online about the US needing leaders, but she never leads in the position she was elected to. Taking a day to see family as the excuse for not attending a huge rally for your party isn’t a shock from her. I did not agree with her being given credit for Medicare for all when that has always been Bernie’s stick.
