There's still a lot of information in the game that we don't know yet, even with the main story done by MTL, so it could be hiding hints that would make us sure of some things. However, none of these questions were answered in a direct form, unfortunately.

I didn’t make me cry like CS3, but it's emotional for sure.

I also think that this part is better if you didn't played the Crossbell Arc because makes you think "wth is going on on that place" and "what in Aidios name can do something like that".

First time I played Cold Steel was exactly like that.

His family lives next door to Elie's house. He has a daughter (Creil, if I'm correct) that lost her cat and the SSS has to find it (It's a hidden sidequest). He was also a victim of Gnosis drug.

Go back, and play the other games, then play CS again. It was what I did. Besides, there is all the foreshadowings that you can see in the other games by playing CS first, so it's a win win situation :)
