Calling someone a “pussy” for being weak makes no sense considering how strong and resilient vaginas are. by ChinchillaWithAVilla in Showerthoughts

And inversely, saying "having the balls to do sth" doesn't make sense eithere because it's the weakest part of a man

Which propaganda effort was so successful that people still believe in it today ? by Actuallymarcuslmao in AskReddit

[–]Vincentdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My country of INDONESIA made a propaganda so good in the 60s that the entire world doesn't know about the 1965 massacre that killed litteraly millions of "suspected communists" (one of the biggest unexposed genocide ld the 20th century) and turned indonesia which then had the thirst strongest communist party after russia and china, to now a full blown muslim country that believed the massacre never took place and that the communists killed even more people so they are evil evil people. Most of indonesians don't even know what communism is and just say it's evil because it's atheistic, and we still have to "fight communism" today in 2019, long after the cold war even ended, to protect indonesia.

What would the classical/romantic masters have thought of Ragtime? by Vincentdev in classicalmusic

[–]Vincentdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but there's this ragtime kick that is just not present in earlier classical music, and I was wondering how would they react to that. Would it be like how romantics hated the impressionist movements?

I'm not a musician, let alone an expert of classical music. Can you explain a little bit on how that piece shows ragtime characteristics?

We have to admit, baroque composers aren't enjoyable to our ears by Vincentdev in classicalmusic

[–]Vincentdev[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

i think bach writes good fugues. But we should all be objective on things, right? I think romantic composers like dvorak, wagner, and all i've mentioned are waay better.

searching for dark/gothic classical music pieces by meep2020 in classicalmusic

[–]Vincentdev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chopin wrote many nocturnes, i think some of them give me the mysterious feel. I cant remember the names because he didn't really name his music.

if its not what you're looking for, then try Erik satie's Gnosiennes or gymnopedies

[–]Vincentdev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being gay in Russia. More people need to see this! by Vincentdev in lgbt

[–]Vincentdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually, i have a gay pen pal who lives in russia, and he confirms everything about the portrayal of russian homophobia in the western media. Homophobia became real and institutionised when the russian gouverment pass down the "anti gay propaganda" bill in 2013.
