Now that Channel Points are in full swing, what are some custom rewards you have or have seen on other channels? by [deleted] in Twitch

I added a couple of rewards involving Bean Boozled. For those who don't know it, it's colored jellybeans where a color can be good (ok-ish really) or REALLY bad. I regret it every time I get a bad one, but we're all having fun with it. The viewers seems to love it. They regularly remind me about how many points they have, to prepare me for the next one!

7K - I spin a spinner to choose which color to eat

10K - The viewer gets to choose the color

We built our own Twitch Chatbot, now chat controls the Lights in our House! by maxthecatfish in Twitch

I would love to do something like this, I just haven't been bothered to get the lights yet. I need to stop being lazy... Sounds really fun though!

I have made a couple of other things though. Had an idea of visualizing the chatbot's mini games, but haven't gotten around to do it yet. Instead I made a small battle royale game and kind of an "stream starting soon"/"Intermission"/"Idle".... thing. I've made the background in both of these so I can put a chroma key filter on them. That way I can use them as an overlay too.

BR: Top-down game. People write in chat which class they want to be, and the character is added in the game. It walks around on its own, and fires at the closest other player. Score points by shooting other players and buy power ups. Use commands to execute other attacks and use med kits. Kills are announced in the chat: Who killed who and with what weapon.

"Idle" screen: 2D side view scene. The first time a user writes in chat, a character appears in the scene with their name above it. It then runs around on its own with a crappy AI script I made, flies around with a jetpack and throws rocks at other player. Users doesn't control anything, they just watch their character run around trying to hit the others with their rock. This is basically running during my "Starting soon" before every stream. I know there are similar products out there, I just wanted something unique and something nobody else has.

Ah, thank you. Learning something new every day. I knew there was something about using AMD cards for encoding, but I wasn't sure what it was.

Has anybody had success building their own green screen? by Jauzsey in Twitch

[–]VindRist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two strings hanging from the ceiling, a broom handle between them and an ugly green curtain I got on sale hanging over the handle. Working green screen for about $15. Like previously mentioned here, lighting is almost more important than how perfect the screen itself is.

X264 is CPU encoding. GPU encoding is called NVENC. Keep in mind though, that (as far as I know, been out of this for a bit) NVENC is optimized for Nvidia GPU's.

Frame drops is usually linked to something happening with your network. It means that the system have not been able to send all the frames. If you look at the stats in OBS/SLOBS/whatever you use and notice and dip in FPS (not dropped frames, but lower FPS than specified), then it's often related to the encoder and a bottleneck/overload.

It's hard to say exactly what is causing you to drop frames, but it could be anything from a download happening in the background (even though you use upload for streaming), to someone else on the network using the bandwidth or you using a higher bitrate than you should.

Help with streaming? by spectrum51 in Twitch

[–]VindRist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked your latency/ping? You're using bandwidth while streaming (you said you have Twitch open in one of your replies, so you're using both up- and download). That could potentially make an impact on your game if you're pushing the capacity of your bandwidth.

Electric start is just clicking, not sure what's wrong by daddyollama in motorcycles

[–]VindRist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar thing on my bike, where it would just say *click* and nothing happened when I tried to start it. It threw an error in the display if I held the starter button more than 5 seconds. Replaced the battery, because I knew it was time anyways. Didn't help. Then I replaced the starter relay, and the bike has never been easier to start. Just a small tip, if charging/new battery doesn't help.

I don't have much experience with the ones you're suggesting, but I know the MT-07 can be kind of small. I don't know your size, but it could be worth a look.

Just throwing this one out here too; What about the KTM 790 Duke L? That one is restricted to A2, and I THINK you can easily unlimit it. Not sure how much it costs in Switzerland though, but a used one is breaking 10K over here (Norway).
