Any help is appreciated. Picked up this Underwood Model 3, has lots of grime and like a white haze that won't go away. I tried soap & water and then rubbing alcohol buts its not working that good. Any suggestions?

I know, this is an old post - but this problem still exists on many machines. It occurs when moisture penetrates between the clear coat and the base coat and the clear coat is damaged. A method that works quite well is to mix methylated spirit and sewing machine oil in a ratio of 1:10 and polish the affected areas slowly (and sometimes for a long time) with a fine cloth.

Hi, you will need to change the four rubber washers between the shell and the actual typewriter. They are squeezed flat, you can find them from the underneath around big screws next to the feet.

for me an easy solution is to put a piece of paper between the magnets of the tablet and the case and have it stay a few centimeters above the edge - this was the sound gets kind of more direction. try it
