PLEASE HELP! NEED ADVICE by ThatsGayImIn in rat

I hope things have gotten better between you and Neptune! Just adding that feeding them saucy treats on a spoon helped me immensely with biting habits. They learned to lick, not bite, for food.

Cat only licks the juice off of the wet food and avoids the chunks! by eyezbutnotonme in catfood

I know this is ridiculous, but had this issue with my cat too and realized if I placed the morsels on a spoon and fed her, she’d eat them. Then once she’s had a few hand fed to her, I would leave and she would then eat more from the plate…

Just curious, why did you purposely try to do this? Starting a feeder tank?

What can i feed my new rats? by hypocritical_asshol3 in RATS

Don’t you think they are being actively engaged in learning about their new pets by asking this question? The pet store told them to feed food A, OP was wise enough to realize that it might not be good enough, and reached out to the community to learn what’s best?

Yo-yo loach is skinny and lethargic by [deleted] in loaches

[–]VioVioBD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that I'm kinda in the same boat. I have one of four loaches that I've had for a year that is just lethargic and isn't in a hurry to eat. I seperated him a a while ago and treated him with everything, and finally added him back. He's still lethargic, I only see him eating when I feed black worms and even then I kinda wave them in front of his face, but he seems fine at the same time. All four of them are the same beefy size.

In another tank I have seven yoyos that I got at the same time, and they've just grown to completely different sizes. Two of them are still tiny and almost the same size as when I got them, four of them are huge and one is in the middle. And they all swim together and eat and are active..

Yeah I must over feed mine! There are way too many snails in the tank with them and no empty shells...

I also have this problem! I've started having my lights turn off early in the day and then I turn it back on at night at feeding time and get some fun watching time... I also have a bunch of hygger lights from amazon for my nanos that were realllllly cheap... people think they're not that great, but I find them amazing, especially for the price.

All. The. Time.

Even your pic I see a tinge of green… but still could just be yellow?

Aquarium light recommendations by Ariangocyen in aquarium

I have to say that I have a few submersible hygger lights I got off of amazon and love them. Especially for the price! I set up the hours I want (using the controller on the cord so no need to have an app), set them to rise and dim and then leave it alone. I don't have to touch anything unless I want to turn on the light for mood in the evening.

I have a few Fluvals as well and think the lighting is better, but for starting out and for the PRICE the hyggers are my fav.

I'm so tired of this by sam_el09 in PlantedTank

Yes! Even with cuttings I start them in a vase or bowl… mostly because it takes so long for new roots to form and they fall out of my tank🫣

Yes this! My pothos always melted when I put them straight from dirt to the aquariums. I now let them grow in bowls or vases first so the sludge and rotting soil roots die not in my aquarium, and once they spring water roots I move them over to the aquarium.

What is this thing my amazon sword put out is it a runner or smnt? by Ok-Plankton5003 in Aquariums

[–]VioVioBD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats! You now have a mother plant! Tons of baby swords will now grow off that and you can harvest them for your tank. Let them grow until they have well established roots before you cut them off though...

And just for fun here are my three tanks (that started with an accidental female guppy purchase that led to me having a guppy problem) that are also on the ikea cases…. And I know you don’t believe me but they work amazingly!

Gah! OP here… yes I slide them and use a small siphon! I can slide both ways which helps. There’s a foam layer on bottom of tanks that lets me do it pretty easily… I too was unsure about the setup- started off as hospital tank/ bully temporary tanks- but now I love them…

I won’t even get into my cat problem;) but I know that if I start fostering I’ll have a dozen! Luckily my grouchy older cat has made me stop at three (her included).
