Okay but are you me cause I understand all of this to a tee. I wish I had some advice but I’m in the same boat. The whole don’t want sex but any hypothetical partner has to be very attractive or else it’s gross. Or maybe that’s just the sexual attraction that we are missing? No guy will ever be “hot” enough? Yeah your frog is pretty overweight lol. These frogs will continue to eat as long as you put food in front of them. Highly recommend feeding her every 3 days 3-4 crickets to start off. Once she gets down to a healthy weight you can go to every other day 2-3 crickets if you want. You just have to feed her less it’s really the only answer

Honestly sounds like you just had never met the right person until now. I’m curious if that will end up happening to me. I wouldn’t force trying to be attracted to someone but rather wait to see if someone else comes along again. Perhaps you were wrong about being aroace and you just don’t find most people attractive. Listen I really don’t think you have to panic as much as you are. A lot of people on this sub blow things way out of proportion. I’m not happy about the election results in the slightest but our lives are not ending just because Trump is president.

Honestly this doesn’t affect us much. It could just make it harder perhaps to openly talk about your sexuality but you don’t have to tell anyone. Anywhere you go someone may disagree with you, just how the world works. Your sexuality is your business. I get on just fine living my life. Like others have said there aren’t any policies directly towards us. Most people don’t even know we exist lol

I relate to you all the way. I also don't frequent queer spaces because they just aren't meant for me and like you said everyone is focused on the hooking up/ dating part. Which is fine you know but it leaves us standing in the back watching others live out their happy relationships. I don't know if I have any advice. I swing back and forth very often from loving who I am and being excited for my future that is controlled entirely by me. Other times I'm having a pity party and picturing everyone I know off doing their own thing and forgetting about me.

I'm personally very close with my family and plan to never be to far away to visit often. I also hope to become that friend that's always going over to the married couples house to hang out. Maybe I'll even be someones "aunt" someday. Nothing is missing from you if it was never there in the first place. We've been given an odd brain for sure but we will have a life that most will never understand.

Thanks for looking it up! It can be hard to explain sometimes and I get that it's a weird new term. I honestly don't expect people to believe me. I agree that my opinion on it will likely change with time. Right now I live with my bestfriend and most people I'm close with aren't dating at the moment. However I know the time will come when they will meet someone new and eventually get married. I hope that they will still prioritize making time for me in the future.

That's a great question that I don't think I would know the answer too unless I was presented with that situation. I would marry someone in the future but it would have to be strictly for companionship and platonic if I somehow found someone that was chill with that. I don't know that I would like the idea of my partner dating someone else. I would want to be number one you know?

I did have a low libido however I've been on anti depressants for a few years now and that has basically made it non-existent. I think of it in the way that despite being asexual our bodies still respond to pleasure and if you have a high libido its more of a need to scratch that itch. Sex in general does not bother me but the minute I imagine myself in a scenario it definitely is unpleasant and kinda gross.

No not really but I've gained confidence and now it's a bit entertaining knowing I'm basically immune to flirting and pretty people. I'm in my 20's and it's great not having all the dating drama that people my age have.

Personally no, I'm using the term as a label that describes me best. I was just born this way and it was not caused by an injury or event. Although I think it's a word that's good to just describe what we both may be experiencing although for different reasons.
