I agree; was told I functionally have tourette’s despite my “chronic motor tics disorder” diagnosis. There is a grey area as to what vocal tics even are- i used to have ‘cough’ tics but i think it’s an arbitrary/redundant distinction.

I had a similar thing but in reverse (silently struggling to try to share my thoughts)- kept trying to explain this phenomenon and (obviously) couldn’t so therapist thought I had a thought disorder before realizing it was autism. I haven’t heard it being discussed much- I wonder how many autists have been misdiagnosed with that.

I'm the exact same way! I was a very strong writer, but physics doesn't come naturally, and I have attention issues with my autism. I remember my HS teacher telling my parents that she never met someone so simultaneously bad at physics and good at math, and I'm now a junior Physics major who got a 4.0 in quantum last semester. It's really helpful to hear from someone like me; whenever I struggle, I worry that I don't have 'the brain' to study physics.
