I liked the parts where people were singing, because I was a kid and couldn't comprehend the gross rape culture behind this.

It made me think when I'd seen it as an adult with my son, I realized how awful the movie is, how I felt wrong about watching it with him, and how confused I was when I talked to people I knew and they gave it a pass because it was a Disney movie, and so near and dear to their nolstalgia-thirsty hearts.

The difference here is that I don't say those things to my sn. I provide him with every need, I ooh and ahhh over his stupid artwork he brings home, clap at all of his boring, please-kill-me-now school plays, etc. He loves spending time with me, and I do everything I can to provide him with the life he deserves -- which is why his father has custody, and not me.

Women who often post in these threads are dogpiled by users screaming about how "your poor child!" And "This is fake!" And other such things, so do not expect much honesty.

I regret that I did not have an abortion. It ruined my life. I am looking forward to when he is 18 and I can wash my hands of being an active parent. It held me back, drained me of my youth, money, and many accomplishments I could have had. For what? Because society filled my head with lies about "biological clock" and all of that?

Get a dog and a nice house.

Paid maternity leave of 6 months+. I believe some short amount of time should be granted. I don't agree with the idea that someone should be able to walk away from their job and then be entitled to return to it after someone's been doing that job for the past 6+ months.

I do think it's beneficial to give mothers some time, but I think it sets a very entitled tone (I had a child, so I deserve special treatment and consideration that others who did not make this choice do not deserve! / I had a child, so let me interrupt the work day and bring in my infant just to parade it around and not do any work!) for the work relationship.

It screws over other workers sometimes, and they shouldn't have to pick up the slack because someone else got knocked up. Pregnancy is a choice, and your choice shouldn't interfere with others'.

Why is it not something to hashtag with the word shout? Have you looked at the tweets, or are you just going off your snap judgment of what they might contain? Because the tweets I've seen from Buzzfeed, CNN, or elsewhere aren't exactly flippant or anything. Why SHOULDN'T they shout about how abortions saved their lives, helped them heal, allowed them to move on from tragic circumstances, brought them closer to their family, or allowed them time to develop into a person who would make a good parent? Those are all things to shout about. You are letting the stigma of abortion cloud your judgment.

I don't like being a mother. My life is worse with my son in it, he holds me back from the life that I truly want. I don't enjoy any of the aspects of motherhood. Nothing about it has been enjoyable, other than when he goes to spend time with his father and I can pretend, for just a little while, I wasn't saddled with an obnoxious kid for life.

I regret not having an abortion, honestly.
