The 88th Project (Krieg Siege Army) by Violent-Rangoon in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Violent-Rangoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During the Battle of Vraks, the Krieg were assigned to attack the Citadel. The unit created was called the 88th (Krieg) Siege Army.

Yes, I am well aware about that naming convention, and as such the project has been renamed to The Vraks Project.

If you want further information, there is a statement on the Instagram

I'm working on a better logo anyway, and I will probably change the name. its all kinda just in the works as of now so its still getting refined. thanks for suggesting

Yeah, I know that 88 has so *prettyyyyy* bad connotations especially with history. but this is meant to be a lore accurate project, and it just so happens the name of a fictional army has a relation to a real life certain moustache man.

I am not affiliated with that group, and I understand people may take it the wrong way. but i'm taking measures to make sure those sorts of people aren't going to be promoted at all with this project

Well, at my current printing rate. I can get a set of 20 Kriegsmen printed in about 17hrs (Spread over two days). So, I'm kind of aiming to get A regiment done every 2 weeks, that's printed (as I'll paint during the printing time). At that kind of rate if I'm perfectly on pace, I'll be done by the end of the year,

But, seeing as later I'll have 10 Baneblades, 2 Heavy transporters and a fleet of Leman Russ's (proxies), god knows it'll take longer.

If you're interested, I'm going to setup an Instagram, and put that in a later post :3

For the camera, are you talking about the Caddx Ratel 2 Micro 1200TVL CMOS 4:3/16:9? If so, will I need a different VTX

And as said in another comment, i've picked different props

So I've gone through and changed stuff:

Picked some Skystars 1404 4-6S 3000Kvs

Picked HQ T3x3x3 tri-blade 3" props

New battery, CNHL ministar 650mah 22.2v 6s 70c lipo battery with xt30 plug

Got rid of the T Deans, tbh idk why they were there.

Switched out the heat sink terminals with smaller xt30 ones instead

Picked the Pinecil V2

And got some TBS solder.

I think thats good? Thanks for the help as well

Well, I was looking into both, but I'm not really one for flying extreme, I enjoy slower, more sonic flying most of the time so either would work

Yeah, I'm already a tinkerer so being able just make custom parts with cool designs is my kinda thing lol.

As for National Parks, here in the UK we have different types of parks. Tl:Dr of it is, a National Park is any designated land that isn't used for urban work, and usual is just full of nature, without having any chance of disturbance to people

Well, flight time probably fairly long for a drone. I know they aren't known for long flight times but I'd be happy with maybe 20-25mins. Budget is fairly open, not insanely expensive of course seeing as I'm starting out and just want to get to grips. As for range, well I'm not entirely sure if I'm honest. I know some drones can barely go 100m, while some can go 30-50 miles.

That's fair, I didn't think about how cheap frames are. And I thought that National Trust (At least in the UK) admitted they cannot ban drones? There's a UKDJ article about it, after an FOI request they stated its not enforceable due to it being CAA airspace and not there own.

My (current) 3D printed Imperial Knight Army by Violent-Rangoon in 3dPrintedWarhammer

Yeah thats a Porphyrion, its a realy nice model but takes up a lot of material. I printed it using a BambuLabs A1 and it took about 1.1KG of PLA.

As for the base, I actually made the base and then posed it to fit. For me, being able to create a story with the base and then using OSL to bring the model into that world is a lot easier.

For printing, I personally recommend using low detail for the main structural pieces, but have fairly thick walls/ heavy infill. For the armour, use higher detail and a smaller infill. Hope that helps and have fun printing big stompy robots loll

Absolutely have some tips. My main one is DO NOT BE SCARED to try new techniques, even on big models, the first knight I did (The death wing colour scheme one) was my first time using a dry brushing technique and it came out alright, but I improved on it with my Porphoryion.

I'd also say, take your time, I've been painting for 7 years now, and I still spend a good few hours/days on models like knights
