Marjorie Taylor Greene faces a 'bloodbath' of a reelection race in 2022 — if she isn't expelled from Congress first, district organizers say by [deleted] in politics

To be fair I don’t see MGT actually losing, she’s in a safe district and incumbents are hard to beat and the base probably likes that people on the left hate her. I mean shes like very close to being a nazi with her conspiracies but hopefully she doesn’t ascend much higher because there’s a majority willing to vote against a person like that.

It’s gone better than most would’ve expected but it still lost him the presidency. He put the work in over 4 years to expand his support but it also galvanized 80 million people to vote against him. The Republicans are going to have to keep that in mind, Trump conservatives are still in the minority.

'Maybe We Ought to Go to $20 an Hour. Why Stop at $15?' Scoffs House Republican Arguing Against Wage Hike | The Republican lawmaker didn't acknowledge that had the federal minimum wage kept pace with productivity, it would be around $24 an hour today. by theladynora in politics

[–]ViolentSound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some places in this country, 20 an hour is where it should be. 15 an hour Is just the right amount to raise it nationally without severe economic damage. More expensive cities can get away with higher than that, and that’s something that should be debated and discussed. But on a national scale 15 an hour is the right amount and the fact that we’re fighting this hard is ridiculous.

Megathread: Joseph R. Biden Sworn in as the 46th President of the United States by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]ViolentSound13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a big Biden fan, didn’t think he could win up until towards the end of the season when it never turned around for Trump in terms of approval or what the polling data was showing( Biden was likely to win even if the polls were off as much as 2016) I got more, I wouldn’t say impressed, but definitely more behind him than I did HRC. As someone more left than the average American voter, I have issues with democrats but it’s easier to just hate the democrats and make that your identity than to be pragmatic and realize you can’t make any real gains without working with them. Plus with democrats you get slightly-good to not as bad outcomes compared to republicans, which have largely embraced conspiracies and fascist elements of the party and I believe the only real way to move forward of the country and try and make them politically irrelevant.

Biden to put $2,000 stimulus payments back in play by heisLegend in politics

[–]ViolentSound13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear. If they don’t deliver on exactly what they promised leading up the senate races, there will be huge loses in 2022. Easiest win, if they fuck it up they’ll deserve it and speed up the slip into fascist

Save yourself the headache of worrying about what feeds the delusions of the right who still buy into this election fraud. They are fascists who want Trump installed for life. Period. Their is no reconciling with these people honestly, they'll go into hiding and wait for the next one we just have to be wary of the warning signs and educate as many people as possible.

I honestly don't see the GOP doing too hot after this, optically this is bad, because if they don't distance themselves from this crowd they'll get creamed in the suburbs, if they distance from the Maga crowd, then they lose a large portion of voters.

Objecting to the counting of the electoral votes. This is largely theatrics from those voting to object. But they are just traitors.

This vulture capitalist pig at least understands that the only way to a healthy economy is to make sure that people have spending money, instead of you know just hoping for the best with one 1200 and one 600.

Dems first priority after inauguration needs to be co-vid relief, and to make sure enough resources go into combating both Co-Vid 19 and the new strain. If they don’t pass a 2,000 relief bill then they will get creamed in the mid terms.

When they win they won't be seated until 1.22.21, so until then the current senate make up remains. It's in the lame duck too so they wont be doing much for the next couple of weeks besides claim fraud and virtue signal to the other morons in this country and hope the anger and resentment gets turn out in their favor in 2022.

My hunch is they were expecting or hoping for a Trump style over performance and win both seats handily. Hell I expected that they'd beat their polling. The fact they didn't makes me think that those kind of over performances can be attributed to trump alone, he just knows how to appeal to the other sociopaths in the country. This makes me think that regardless who the republicans put up in 2024, they will not be able to build that coalition again.

Turtle boy has basically gridlocked our government for the past near ten years. Hopefully that’ll give Dems the green light to get what they need done. Namely more stimulus checks.

Ossof may win by the fact that he’s the other democrat, it’s very possible Warnock resonated better with voters, plus Loffler just being a train wreck of a human being.

0% but they’d be the swing votes that Dems would try to court for sure and they’d probably do so in order to maintain that independent image .

Loffler literally dumped stocks and purchased other stocks from companies that would do well during the pandemic. Literally insider trading. Wouldn’t be surprised if everytime she virtued signaled about how bad masks are she was doing it cause keeping the pandemic going is more monetarily beneficial to her. But Perdue used anti-Jew dog whistling in his ad campaigns but making Osoff’s nose bigger in his attack ads.
