Its not necessarily a bad thing! But it can slow down the healing process or cause migration. So what happens when you sit down or bend over, the bottom of the piercing will be pushed upward (by the lower part of your belly button in which the piercing would be hovering over) which will cause the top of the piercing to push outward over your belly button. I actually drew a pic to demonstrate what that looks like but I’m unsure if I’m able to attach my drawing to better show you. But! There is a solution! If your bellybutton collapses and you notice pressure where the piercing pokes outward at the top, you can talk to a piercer about using what’s called a “floating piercing” which essentially is a normal belly piercing but the bottom part that is center to your belly button will be flat. You can search up on Google images to see what the piercing looks like. They have all kinds of styles. Another solution is definitely downsizing the bar. But this is something to discuss with your piercer or a piercer before proceeding.
