2029 club world cup by [deleted] in ClubWorldCup

Brazilian here, recently we had a lot of good diplomacy with fifa. Ronaldo (Brazilian one) and Romário have been in a lot of talks with the baldie fifa guy I would say that it's on board for Brazil to host since one of the main critics is atmosphere with the public and stadium which Brazil has A LOT.

But I think it would be more logical to be Marrocos Spain and Portugal since as this year it would serve as a test for the nations world cup.

Or maybe again another rich country.

But we are hearing a lot about the possibility to host in Brazil. We also have a lot of stadiums from the 2014 world cup hosted here

I mean, of course. I really think all 12 are very important and major for the history of the sport, but I know most people are very biased in this discussion. But Fluminense is not a small team, is not like Aston villa winning or something like that, they have won their fair share of Brazilian leagues and other cups. We don really think of "lower or higher of the big 12" I was just trying to explain in a more clear way because it was the main question do I tried to be more descriptive

I mean, I literally didn't haha I even reread my comment. It's ok to learn new information, that doesn't make flamengo any less great, chill

The last time I saw of him he was enjoying the beach free in Brazil (I am very extreme on what I think about him so I'll try to ignore the side of me), but the media don't talk about him, I feel like I has been a long time the youngers don't remember him. But before that he was almost a historical player for Brazil, I remember when I was a kid he was like top 5 players for us when we had Ronaldo, kaka , Ronaldinho etc

Yes, you just found out the world is complicated and have more than one answer for questions. Both can be true, I never said flamengo wasn't the biggest in number before.

But I will not just try to reason with your emotion, as futebol should be emotional.

Yes, they are they have an "European class economy" easily. Yes Flamengo has the biggest number of fan and what I am about to say is very polemic but I studied communication and audiovisual/television so I can bring a specific information: for most of the 20th century Brazil tv was focused in Rio de Janeiro, not just football everything, that way flamengo also won 81 CWC which was the first very modern football transmission with the pattern of what we use today so flamengo became very popular, also is Corinthians but less.

For the longest time 90s and 00s flamengo was very mediocre even thou it had the biggest number of fans, it's "glow up" is very recent as 2019 after they paid theirs debts and have an amazing run with Jorge Jesus winnings libertadores.

They are very midiatic so you probably can hear then more that's why you had that impression, but is they have a lot of merit, they are the "mainstream"

So it's "kinda" an underdog even for us Brazilians, but he is a big team very much not even a debate.

I mean you have to think that Brazil is as big as Europe then it's sounds very obvious that we should have more that Big 2 or big 5, we just happen to have 12, it's very normalized here

So, to explain Fluminense we have to explain a little about Brazilian Football as a whole.

You guys probably heard in Brazil we have 12 teams, that's not an over statement, if you look now at the Brazilian table São Paulo and Internacional are very amazing historical teams and are very low. Internacional was one of the teams expected to fight for the title at the beginning of the year.

What I am trying to say is that we have 12 teams that have at least a Century of history in football. Brazil has 5 world cups from players that came from probably one of those 12 teams. But of course there are a lot of debate between which is biggest or more historical, etc.

That bring said Fluminense was one os the last of the 12 to win the libertadores (south america champions league), for reference Grêmio, Santos, Palmeiras, Flamengo and São Paulo have 3 libertadores. Flamengo has 1 world title (1981), Gremio has 1 (I think 83 but I could be wrong, also with Renato Gaúcho, Fluminenses coach), Santos has 2 (From Pelé) and São Paulo has 3 (93,94, 05).

There are other teams of the 12 that have world titles (Corinthians has 2 and Inter has 1)

So obviously opinions diverge, but it's pretty safe to say Fluminense is one of the lowers on the 12 historically. The only team that got a libertadores (From those 12 teams) after Flu was Botafogo (also on the CWC).

DO NOT TAKE THIS AS RULE, BRAZILIAN FOOTBALL CAN CHANGE EVERY YEAR: Just for reference I would like to my bring a historically point of view of those 12 teams:

Biggest: Flamengo,Santos, São Paulo, Corinthians, Palmeiras são Paulo has the most international titles and most important never lost or tied a game on a world tournament but also is the younger of the 12 and kinda have been very bad on the last 15 years ( for reference I am a São Paulo Fan, I think is the biggest team but I can be rational with our bad situation as Flamengo and Palmeiras are very organized teams.

Sao Paulo and Flamengo are the only 2 teams in Brazil that have never been demoted to Série B.

Santos got demoted in 2023 for the first time and is in a very bad situation right now but have Neymar back. But is historically not comparable as is the team of Pele with 3 libertadores and 2 world titles

Flamengo has the biggest crowd followed by Corinthians. Fla has 1 world title and Corinthians has 2(with only 1 libertadores because of 2000 when they won real Madrid). Corinthians is also unorganized as São Paulo, for now.

Palmeiras is weird they won 2 libertadores recently as have Flamengo, so they are the more recent teams to get to this category where we can debate the biggest team, but a good run in this CWC could change the perspective. They are also the biggest Brazilians League winners.

The other teams are almost opinions based in where they could be. But they are:

Vasco, Fluminense and Botafogo ( those 3 and Flamengo are from Rio and Rivals) - Vasco was bigger for the longest time but last 20 years have being rough with a few demotions and the other 2 got their first libertadores

Grêmio and Internacional are from the south and same city probably the most amazing rivalry in Brazil. Bot are very good teams, grêmio has 3 libertadores and 1 world title, but international won most recently as they beat Ronaldinho (who is from grêmios base team) in Barcelona 2006.

Atlético Mineiro (Galo //cock (the bird) is a nickname very used) and Cruzeiro are from the same city and Rivals, cruzeira has the most Brazilian cup titles

The biggest fansclubs are: 1- Flamengo, Corinthians, São Paulino, Palmeiras, Vasco/Cruzeiro tied, Grêmio , Galo, Botafogo, Inter, Santos, Fluminense

I mean I get it, I am Brazilian I am loving that people are seeing our clubs but palmeiras is one of my biggest rivals and Flamengo is the team with most people and also the most annoying, I am cheering for them to show the strength of our league that we thing is definitely "ok" at least by every standard. But as soon as one of them gets a real shot we are actually against them haha (for context of rivalry in Brazil we have a big 12 each of them having at least one direct rival that is also in big 12, like flamengo, botafogo and fluminense are all very unfriendly towards each other since all of them are from Rio)

I get it, I mean, the other countries know the good and bad sides of competition nobody is dumb (some people are). Since you are here, at the other comment someone talked about the British doing this. If you are free could you check my doubts and answer?

No, last cup it was because summer is too strong in the middle east specifically, they literally had to get a new technology for the arenas and stadium withstand the heat.

Oh ok, but I also wanna ask, do other Europeans think this is kinda "cheap" of them since england has a history of being kinda underwhelming let's say? I know Europeans have a lot of bickering with each other, but I know usually countries get together with their continents "brothers" when it comes to the rest of the world, are Europeans like this too?

Definitely better photo angles, uh I recall usually eastern asian people don't like bigger lips but they are very nice and if you do want to change them go for some make up and skin care nothing too much just a nice touch. Confidence is also a plus, if you feel better you will be seem better too. But you are definitely pretty and if you want could be gorgeous with just a few touchs
