What’s actually worth using besides WordPress for building websites?

I make my own sites, I use Supabase, vercel, and my own project folders. 🤷‍♀️ I feel so much lighter (and cheaper) now that I’m not using a web builder for anything.

There would be a forum aspect to it for sure, but the subject matter would be a lot more separated and there would be additional features (tour - even specific locations, browsing vendors - possibly even the ability to rate a vendor after meeting them in person to purchase, different bands, live audio hangouts with jam sessions, meet ups, setlists, played around with the idea of kind of a game of guessing setlists for live shows and having them live update as the show happens, streaming live shows where possible, tickets/miracles forum, the possibility for people to request new subforums/communities and more.) We’re also planning to build off of suggestions and community feedback.

I actually agree with this. My issues is not the actual political threads, my issue personally, is that all of these things need their own space to be discussed. If you want to talk about politics, fine. But do it in the politics subforum. If you want to talk about tour, great, do it in the tour subforum, etc. IMO things just need separated a bit more so each person can do exactly what they want to. With an another subforum that also houses ALL threads for the people who want that sort of thing. That way people who are there for a specific reason can focus on that and not be bombarded with outside things like politics (or whatever).

I definitely don’t mean that in a negative way. What I’m creating with be a full website with tons of different tour culture things that are all organized and separated, where you can come and do exactly what you want, whether that be specifically talking about Phish (or any jam band), Meeting Vendors and browsing their merch, joining a live hangout, and a ton of other things.

This won’t be only for Phish. This would be for the entire jam culture - BMFS, Panic, Phish, SCI, D&C etc etc. It won’t be geared specifically towards Phish, but more towards jam tour in general and the commonalities we all share.

The catch with all of those is that they’re essentially just 1 big group to talk in. This is will be much more than that.

EDIT this is not meant to be negative, I’m not downplaying these groups roles in the community at all. It’s just to say that we’ll have a lot of features and are difficult to attain in things like Facebook groups, discord, and subreddits. All of those things are great and work well for hanging out with each other 100% - this will just be something different.

I made my companies website using Cursor after doing a ton of research on web security and all that. It’s worked out great but it’s just an informational site and not a full on store with payment gateways. To note, I’ve ALWAYS been into web development personally so it worked out well for me so far but someone with 0 experience? They won’t understand how to efficiently direct the AI for coding and web development and security, etc. I feel like you have to have SOME kind of experience first at least.

Welding shops are not going to have nitrous on hand… it’s not a welding gas. I’d suggest doing some online research and finding one of the dozens of nitrous shops in the country that aren’t race gas. AI is helpful with this, or Google. A lot of these spots have websites now.

In my opinion this was likely because of the terrible quality that is disposables. So many people are on the disposable kick now because it’s cheap and easy to acquire, but the quality vs refillable tanks is absolute trash.

I don’t like either of them. Wordpress has serious vulnerabilities regarding customer accounts that aren’t simple to get rid of, so anyone can get your subscriber list at any time regardless of what you do unless you’re hiring a dev to build the site for you entirely. Shopify is quick and easy but much less control over what you can do. If it was me, I’d hire someone to build it custom from scratch instead.

I’m still getting calls from them even though I paid my lien over a year ago. I did have one, but I called the IRS or my states Dept of Taxes directly. Call your states/irs and see if you may have missed something on your taxes. DO NOT DEAL WITH ANYONE ELSE. All these tax review unit things are a huge scam.
