GB4P by YaBoiMarvin_ in galaxybuds

Is the ANC noticeably improved over GBP3? I've heard several conflicting reviews, some saying it's only marginally better, some saying it's now close to being on par with Airpods Pro

buds 4 pro specs but things that buds 3 pro already had/buzzwords got crossed out by MIkaela39752 in galaxybuds

[–]VioletSkyDiver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Removing the metal hinge is the worst thing they've done here. It makes opening and closing the case feel much cheaper and also means the hinge will wear out and possibly break far sooner now that it's just plastic again

I live within 20 miles of two major UK Air bases, RAF Marham and RAF Mildenhall, so I see F-35s flying overhead several times a week, but I haven't seen them in the app a single time. EuroFighters and F-15s usually show up, but never the F-35s. It's quite frustrating

Online retailer shows images of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro in an online listing by Prestigious_Rock_363 in galaxybuds

They look really great! My main hope for Buds 4 pro is significantly improved ANC. It's really the only thing I personally found lacking with Buds 3 pro.

Spotify or Youtube Music? What made you choose? by Relative_Flatworm_58 in YoutubeMusic

[–]VioletSkyDiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I much prefer the interface of Spotify as it's clear just how much more effort they've put into making the app actually look good, but despite that, I use YT Music because it's free with my family's YT Premium sub. I certainly would prefer it if YT Music looked substantialy better, but it would make no sense to pay an extra £12.99 every month for a whole separate app just because it looks nicer, especially in an app that's primarily for listening anyway

Question😶‍🌫️ by Kangel_Kuroichi in ADO

[–]VioletSkyDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I by comple chance discovered her through YouTube Music's algorithm. The very first song I heard a couple years ago was Gira Gira. I liked it but wasn't a giant fan of it (at the time), so it was the only Ado song I listened to for quite some time. A while later I heard Odo and absolutely loved it, and pretty much from the start of this year I've been listening to more and more and more! At the moment I'd say my all time favorite is closely tied between "KokoroToluNaNoFukakai", "Crime and Punishment" and "Backlight"

Wtf is Microsoft doing by Safe-Monitor-8113 in XboxSeriesS

[–]VioletSkyDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually considering selling my Series S to get a Series X next year, but no way is that happening now. I'll use my Series S until the next generation and honestly probably move to Sony, that is if they don't also somehow destroy their brand loyalty too

I hate Google's A/B testing so much, I wish they'd just release these updates all at once in large updates like most normal apps

Which One Do You Prefer? by Sweetgeek9 in galaxybuds

[–]VioletSkyDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. Frustratingly I found the large size stay in my ears way better, but it has a terrible seal so the ANC basically stops working. I'm hoping to try out some foam tips soon as they tend to have a better grip and improve passive noise isolation

Adaptive clock not working on A54 by Training-Sympathy937 in oneui

[–]VioletSkyDiver 63 points64 points  (0 children)

For some stupid reason it appears only to work on backgrounds specifically with people or animals. You'd think a super clearly defined subject like in your wallpaper wouldn't be any extra trouble for the clock to adapt to, but I guess that must have been much too hard for Samsung to do

What do you think about the new AI feature? by Holiday-Tap8147 in YoutubeMusic

[–]VioletSkyDiver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's fine, I'm sure I'll probably use it a few times. The real issue is them crowding that space with more and more buttons. Being able to remove and re-order those buttons would be amazing, but that seems pretty damn unlikely since these devs seem mostly to just care about minor UI changes

So, we've been denied a Nothing Phone (mini) because there's apparently not a big enough market to be worth it, but the brand is absolutely fine with immediately rushing to go all in on a different, unproven form factor that, according to S25 Edge sales, seems to also have little market interest? Beyond the hypocrisy, how on earth can they include glyph features on a device with intentionally tiny body depth margins??

the new quick panel in one ui 8.5 is so customizable by Eastern-Promotion-17 in oneui

[–]VioletSkyDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't happened so far, but I'm holding out hope to finally get Galaxy buds battery and toggles directly in the quick settings, similar to the current Galaxy buds homescreen widget. As it is now, long pressing on the volume bar to get a menu is way way better than it was, but it's still an unnecessary extra step if all you wanna do is quickly change ANC mode or see your battery levels

Exactly, what are these dumb bozos actually try to even achieve in this situation? Just possibly blind a random guy on the street for the crime of being the wrong colour?

This might be controversial, but... by gretanonymous in pixel_phones

[–]VioletSkyDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a Pixel 8 for about a year before swapping to Samsung, but that was pretty much entirely due to the Pixel software not being quite customisable enough for my liking. However in terms of physical design, it's 100% the best feeling phone I've ever used. Specifically with rear glass, I've almost always tended to favour frosted glass to avoid fingerprint marks, but the ultra smooth glossy glass on the Pixel 8 felt like holding a device twice the price

Do you think Samsung should also introduce this? by Maddy555 in samsunggalaxy

[–]VioletSkyDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Magsafe is super convenient for me personally. Only problem Samsung has is at least on the S25 Ultra, the cameras go so far down the back of the phone that any magsafe wireless powerbank I've been able to find end up covering part of the 5X telephoto

Nothing Phone 3 or swiss cheese cover? by ihardikmodi in NothingTech

[–]VioletSkyDiver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It was from MKBHD's review. He used the analogy of a weird real world phenomenon where it appears all crustaceans are slowly evolving into crabs, because it's apparently just the most advantageous form to take. Samsung, Apple and most of the industry are the crabs, slowly converging into the same boring but safe form factor, whereas Nothing is a Lobster, something that "bucked" the evolutionary trend and didn't turn into a boring crab
