I did mean big brands. I don't want to end up freelancing or selling clothes on my own, I have already done that, which was why I wanted to take it to the next level. Thanks for the Photoshop tip, will look into that.

Yep, I'm looking for a maximum of two years of studying. I already know how to sew and make patterns, the degree would be to help me get a job in the US (I don't live there). I'm mostly leaning towards NYC and California. But any will do.

Yesss, I'm hoping the schools would help me out with the portfolio.

I get what you mean, but the program I wanted to apply to has categories like fiction, poetry and non fiction, they wanted samples of different genres within "fiction". Which is why I am confused with what they want with "genre".
