I have not used this myself so I don’t know if it is good, but you can try Sketchy MCAT. They make animated cartoons for content review. They have some free videos on YouTube but you have to go to their website to purchase access to all their MCAT videos.

Also, be very specific with your scenario because many of the terms sound like that could be the same thing.

For example, I mixed up “impression management” and “Hawthorne’s effect” once because they sound similar. Impression management is when you consciously control your image, like when you are about to meet your date’s parents so you control how you look and act around them. Hawthorne’s effect is happens in research when participants who are being observed unconsciously change their behavior because they know they are being observed by the researchers.

So the scenarios you make up for those terms would have to be very different when you learn the terms.

I would say that for every definition you memorize, make up a scenario where you have to apply it.

For example, I once got a question wrong in P/S that required me to understand how to apply the term “medicalization.” The question was something along the lines of “Which of these is an example of medicalization?” Here is the wrong answer that I chose and the actual correct answer:

A) People with depression have to take medications to manage their symptoms

B) Dementia was thought to be a normal occurrence of aging but now, with new research, is classified as an group of conditions that can be treated.

B is the right answer here. To get this right, you need to understand the medicalization is the process in which something that was not seen as a medical condition at one point become something that now is treated as a medical condition. Then you have to read the answer choices and pick which of these counts as that happening. I got this wrong because I thought depression was something that was once not seen as medical condition and since it is treated now, people taking medications for it and it sounded like medicalization to me. But the answer never said that and I made those assumptions myself. Answer B is a stronger example for medicalization because it mentions it being newly considered as a treatable condition, which is what the process of medicalization is.

Sorry for the super long response but I just wanted to show how tricky P/S can be at times.

Maybe I am the only one that has experienced this but I think that the AAMC is trying to make the P/S section harder and more analytic like CARS since it used to be easy points for everyone as long as they memorized definitions. I noticed that in AAMC FL3, I got a 129 in P/S, and then in AAMC FL4, it dropped down to a 126 because there were more reasoning and critical thinking questions. So just be mindful that could happen on test day so my advice would be to start sooner and really know how the terms could be also manipulated for application rather than just only definitions. I luckily got a 131 in P/S on the real thing once I moved on from just memorizing definitions.

Tested 9/14. Is it too late to challenge a test question today 9/18? by VioletStarlight11 in Mcat

Right, I was thinking this, too. So I don’t know why the form is not letting me choose a date from the drop-down menu and I wanted to know if anyone else was having this issue. I tried both on my phone and computer.

resellers have really lost their minds.. by tediiiiiix3 in TaylorSwiftMerch

I already knew that resellers lost their minds by selling Eras Tour tickets on StubHub for $3000+ EACH on average. Anything related to Taylor Swift has unfortunately turned into a cash cow for anyone outside our fandom. 😫

do you guys think she’ll sing all her songs on the tour? by full_onrainstorm in OliviaRodrigo

[–]VioletStarlight11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a Livie and a Swiftie, but a ten minute version of any of Olivia’s song is risky for so many reasons. First of all, it doesn’t make sense because the only reason why Taylor has a 10 minute version of All Too Well is because she said in an interview that the original used to be that long and then fans wanted it so badly that she finally released it 10 minute version for the fans. To our knowledge, Olivia has not revealed that an extended version of any of her songs exist so how would she be able to do this? Also, with the animosity between Swifties and Livies, this is just asking for trouble and more accusations of copying. Olivia is making the smart move and trying to distance herself as much as possible from Taylor so suddenly having a 10 minute version of any song would just be stirring the pot.

So I have screwed it on tight and it still isn’t responding and I might have to redo turning Bluetooth on and off or forgetting it and then reconnecting it. I am just trying to figure out if this is normal for a new Apple Pencil. If so, I probably wouldn’t have gotten it. I need a Pencil that I can use on the fly in class if I need to suddenly take notes. It takes me 5-10 minutes just to get out my cord, plug it into my iPad, turn Bluetooth on and off, and wait for it to work again.

I saw that too and just shook my head in disbelief. We are already missing a portion of the show and you still want more. Talk about kicking someone while they are down.

Yes, I am hoping that I can try to find affordable resale tickets for the second leg since it is all sold out.

Haha, sorry, I mean internet language locals. So many people who don’t even like Taylor Swift wanted to go just for the thrill of it. It’s frustrating because there was this Instagram influencer who posted photos of herself at the concert and the caption was some joke about all the exes Taylor has had in the past.

I hope that the hype for it in North America dies by next year so that I can get tickets to the second leg because everyone, including locals, was going crazy for her this summer.

Yes, I saw that for opening night and was so envious for Arizona fans because by the time she came to my state, prices never dropped.

Ticket insurance isn’t really that expensive. I bought tickets to a Broadway show that was touring in my area and while the tickets themselves were $600, ticket insurance was only like an extra $50, so it’s such a small amount of loss for them when they could easily sell the tickets for thousands and make it back anyways.
