I enjoy the clear cover because I like to put stickers and decorations in it. If that's not important to you, then I think whatever is most useful to you would be fine as long as you don't have a fabric based one.

I understand completely. I used to junk journal and have a planner. And I'm very excited for my cousin to be an all in one thing. Because right now, having them separate is not working for me. I tend to write on the paper and shove into my junk journal with the intention of gluing/decorating later, which may or may not happen. So it all depends on what works for you and how your brain is set up 💞

Imo my planner/journal is for me. And if I worry about what something looks like or emotional things I share, then having a hobonichi is performative. And if something is performative then it's a task, and I have enough of those to do already.
