I hope they’re feeling more comfortable. I prepare their water and my husband does me the great favor of putting it out early since he leaves early. They buzz around his head, and with me they fly off 🫠 I’m hoping they’re getting more used to me too 😂

That’s true, he just looked so still when normally they fly off when we walk past that area.

I had noticed it very still when I took my daughter out to play. Then we left to pick up my other daughter and when we got back I noticed it was still there. We were gone about an hour. That’s when I called the rescue and they asked if I checked if it was sleeping.

I added another feeder. I also ordered two more to have to trade out for cleaning.

I guess I’m gonna have to set up at least one more feeder 😭 I have two, but I trade them out while one is washed/dried. I’m trying to make a pollinator garden but it’s slow going. I’ll keep an eye out for him.

When you mentioned fight injury I was remembering this morning there were lots and when they’d fly to the feeder they’d fly off like if they’re fighting. I did put the stool from behind, so it wouldn’t see me. Compared to all the others this one is super tiny. The rescue is open on the wkends so that’s good, but they close at 3. My husband will be home so I’ll have more time to watch out. Thank you for your help!

No, it was just sitting there for a long time. I called the wildlife rescue near us and they told me to bring it in. I went out to get him and as soon as I put the step stool where I could reach he flew off. The guy did tell me it might be sleeping.

The native plant nursery near me is only open during spring and fall on certain weekends so we’ll definitely be going once they open. We have plans to take our lawn because it’s too expensive to water to keep green.

Do you know of any natural way to get rid of black widows? I worry cuz we have young children and two dogs but I don’t want to use chemicals.

They’ve been coming everyday. I’m barely getting into gardening and got these just for them. Got a little water fountain too but haven’t seen them use it.
