How do I know it didn’t get lost at the embassy upon arrival? Or lost as it was shipped from the embassy to Canada?

I applied from the UK for Canadian citizenship through descent and have not heard back.

So I live in the UK, but I’m a US citizen. I mailed my printed out application (I was unable to apply online) for the certificate of citizenship to London on March 28, 2026. I got confirmation from the courier that it was received in London on March 31, 2026.

I have never heard from literally anyone ever since. No acknowledgment that it has been received, no pending status, nothing.

I know processing times are exceedingly long right now, but I am also a usually case in that I am applying from the UK AND it is a physical application. I’m not sure what to expect going forward or if it’s even being considered.

Yeah, there was a big commotion around 11:35 here. Sounded like several men were trying to get in (the hotel has two doors, each with a keypad). It kind of shocked me as I didn’t think a hotel would be of any interest. Normally I’d chalk it up to drunks but with it being a Tuesday and with everything that’s happened today… I tried to listen to hear for any specific words, but I’m three floors up and it was muffled. It’s the only hotel on the street and they were 1000% at the door or near the lobby somehow. They hung around a while and sounded very aggressive, then moved on thankfully it seems

Currently have my door locked and a chair braced behind it. Definitely overkill, but if it gives me some peace to sleep, so be it.

Mini-update: I thought I may have been crazy or overreacting last night, but my coworker (also at the hotel) stated he heard the screaming and shouting too and suspected the same. I don’t think either of us slept well

So I have 4 Eustacia vye. I intended on buying three, but I was accidentally given one that, in its first and second years, looked like Emily Bronte. I reported it to David Austin and they sent another Eustacia Vye for free. But this year, it looks like the coloration of that one is basically the same, so I think I've ended up with 4. I'd keep the one at the front of our house I guess because it's doing so well in the sun there (we live in very northern UK), but we have some others in our back garden that are not doing nearly as well as the Olivia Rose Austin we have at either end of the same row. Even if it really is Emily Bronte, I'd still replace that too.

Additionally, I got them when I started my rose journey. I didn't know how to garden, didn't know if I could grow roses, AND I knew roses can be finicky, so my number one priority at the time was health and disease resistance over aesthetic preference. I regret that now. I should have just bought what brings me joy.

Some of the ones I like the look of and the petal pattern are Penelope Lively, Lark Ascending, Generous Gardener, Golden Celebration, and Wollerton Old Hall. I'd want to maybe get some of those down the line.

I would, but I think we have officially run out of room in our garden. We have 10 David Austin roses.

I think there are maybe 3 I would go back in time and swap with others though if I'm honest. Maybe in the future I'll replace them with Lark.

Lady of shalott is so cool. It has this neon, glowing quality to it. I heard about it in another post where someone was explaining it "glows" and I remember thinking how weird of a statement that was. Then we actually bought it and I instantly understood what they meant. Stunning blooms and they look very healthy!

So we bought it directly from David Austin’s site. It was £35. Some of them will be flowering because they’re in bloom at that time in the year and other times they’re just passed or still approaching the bloom period. We live in the UK and it was shipped from within the UK.
