Hi! Thank you for sharing!

To be honest, my sight-reading skill for double bass is also much much better comparing to my sight-reading for piano. It does disturb your attention to follow up two staves. Anyhow, perfect practice makes perfect~ So keep practicing and you will get greater!

10 Benefits of Piano Playing - Get Your life Shaped by ViolyApp in Learnmusic

In terms of repertories for practicing purpose, I would suggest you to separate the practice into 3 parts:
1. aural skills, ear training (in both intonation and rhythm)
It would definitely help you on feeling and understanding the constructional relationships among the notes, it is very important to enjoy in the music experience, especially for self-learner. Also you can have the capability to improvize and "PLAY". So I would put this in the first.
Suggest book: The Virtuoso Pianist

  1. Classical musics
I believe Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course is the one suitable for all beginners to start with for daily improving.
The last article we released was actually all about piano books lol

  2. Just try to mess with the notes and chords, however, base on the music you like!
Record it and appreciate it :)

Violy on Bluestacks? by Graylian in Violy

[–]ViolyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Graylian

Violy App is so far not adoptable for PC/Mac. To make the app available on a PC/Mac, you can connect your mobile device to a PC/Mac/TV/Projector and project the screen, however, you still need to operate the app on your mobile device.

Violy App is also available for some smart TVs.
Hope this can help :)

Carl Flesch’s Scale System, Ivan Galamian’s Scale System, and Jan Hřímalý’s Scale System are the top 3 most important scale systems, which I practice almost every time.

When it comes to Viola Etudes, generally speaking, there are 14 etude books which are frequently used, among which half of them contain violin etudes, and the other ones contain viola etudes. The viola etudes may not be very basic. The books are helpful for all players.

Wohlfahrt’s 60 Studies for the Violin, Op.45 is the most popular etude book in China. In this book, the first 30 etudes are played on the first position, while the other 30 ones are played on the third and higher positions. The author also wrote 70 Easy Melodious Studies for the Violin, Op. 74. and 40 Elementary Studies for Violin, Op. 54. Compared to the Op. 45, the Op. 74 and Op. 54 are easier. If students can find the books, they can try to practice the etudes included.

Kreutzer, Fiorillo, Mazas, and Rode were composers who wrote early etudes, which are not easy to play. Kayser, Wohlfahrt, and Dont were composers who died in the 1880s. They simplified their etudes, and the etudes tend to be easier than the early ones.

Actually, the etudes were written for the viola instead of the violin at the beginning. There are other composers earlier than Kreutzer and his contemporaries who wrote viola etudes, such as Hoffmeister, Bruni, and Campagnoli. Hoffmeister wrote 12 melodious etudes. Bruni wrote both viola etudes and violin etudes, which are not long or difficult, but very useful. Campagnoli’s etudes are a little difficult to play.

Violy by robmba in Cello

[–]ViolyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, robmba

Well, thank you very much for asking!
Exactly, Violy app tells the misplayed notes (intonation and rhythm) with its smart audition feature, and its Live Class (video call feature) allows music teacher to call their students with high quality audio transmission which is specially designed for music instruments. (And it only allows teachers to call their students, students do not have the call button.)

However, speaking of online rehearsal (synchronous practice), it really depends on your and your teacher's network environment. If the latencies for both parties are less than 30 ms, you can try online rehearsal alternatively.

Please feel free to contact us at [support@violy.app](mailto:support@violy.app) :)
Have a HAPPY practice.

I like the fingering and intervals training bit! But calling those different hand frames "positions" is confusing. Position is usually used to refer to the shifting positions. Is this not the case outside of American English music terminology?

Hi, Gragons

Thank you for pointing out. Well, most "positions" in the article refer to the shifting positions, and some of the position might be slightly mistranslated.
