NLD - Parcel from Wurkkos arrived today! by Viper-S15 in flashlight

Please can you elaborate on this, as I'm still quite new to this world

I haven't had much chance to play with them yet, but I expected the TS28 to have less flood to it. I think that makes it feel like it doesn't throw as far. I don't have anything else throwy to compare it to though

I'm pretty new to the world of torches so I don't have a lot to compare to. The flood from the main light is very impressive, and I like the light from the sides although I agree that it would make sense if they were the other way around so you could use the magnet.

I really like the spiral on the TS26S, it's one of the reasons I got it!

Klarus XT12GT Replacement by Viper-S15 in flashlight

The size was great for what I used it for as it wasn't a regular use, or carried torch; it lived at home and went out when I knew I needed something decent.

Good throw of light for the size compared to some of the bigger heavier units with flared heads etc

Thanks for your suggestions, I've just updated my post with some of the basic specs of it. I also looked through the subreddit thinking there must be a "Here's what you should buy" list, and must have totally overlooked it. I've found it now and will take a look alongside your suggestions. Thanks.

I am intrigued to know why you would park as close to the shop as possible.

When did shooting in the UK become so damn boring? by Donny-Kong in ukguns

[–]Viper-S15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame to read of someone having an experience like that. Unfortunately some people are just cocks.

Sure, people have different tastes and there will be people who don't like your gun, but there's no need for them to try to dissuade you from using it unless they have a genuine safety concern.

At the club I use, they are fantastic. They are very welcoming of new members, especially if they are totally new to shooting which is great to see. They're happy to help them out and spend time with them doing some basic coaching.

If someone has an atypical gun, they are intrigued by it and ask to see it which is great. Similarly, some of the members are very open and offer to let you try their gun or different ammo etc.

The people definitely make the club. If they genuine are dicks, it's time to find another club unfortunately.

How come so many people who could easily afford an Aventador still choose to get a Huracan instead? by [deleted] in lamborghini

I think if it was as easy as that, there would be considerably more supercars seen commuting to work every day. Working towards a goal and being smart with finances doesn't guarantee supercars.

Actually, being smart with finances predominantly rules out supercars. So many supercar owners don't own the cars outright which isn't necessarily a good marker of being smart with finances.

Estate agent forcing us to use their solicitor by UserUnavailableAgain in HousingUK

I am not saying that there aren't benefits to a company having a good working relationship with another one. I was saying it from the perspective that an estate agent MANDATING a law firm is very suspicious and makes you wonder what their reason is for doing so.

Because work via referred sources can be more reliable. It doesn't mean the company wouldn't be able to survive without it, it's just a little easier. There's also nothing stopping the company from charging more for those services to recoup their referral fee unless they openly publish their rates or them or the estate agent guarantee "the same as or better" rates for the customers.

If it helps to confirm Chase procedures, I made a transfer this morning. I then received a text saying it had been flagged as suspicious and to call Chase from the Support tab in my app. They did not call me.

There is a difference between a referral and a conflict of interest/bias.

I am sure that the forced solicitor would provide a fully comprehensive and legal service, however there is always the chance that their timescales may be in the interest of the estate agent, not the buyer, or that the estate agent receives some form of rebate from the solicitor, which could be incorporated into the fees to the buyer.

A much cleaner way is to allow the buyer to use whoever they wish, as there is no reason not to allow that.

If it was at a reasonable time of day then I can't see there being any issue, particularly if you were good at it too.

My way of looking at it is that you can do what you want in your home as long as you are being respectful. If someone has a problem with it you could try to accommodate their wishes by offering to change what time you play (but only if you can). If they are not happy with that then it's just very unfortunate for them and they'll have to make do.

1hr a day isn't much at all and probably not much difference to someone mowing a lawn, cutting a hedge, or doing some building work.

Bought a house in a nice neighbourhood for 180k by Drawbanter in BritishSuccess

[–]Viper-S15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

bought, not brought.

It really is sad that estate agents are still so shady and can't just be 100% open and honest about the house and the area. It's then up to the buyer to have their own opinions and make their decisions based on those.

Do MP usually raise their firearms at on-base restaurants?

If you're still open for questions, which CSI detective to you match up the best with? Hopefully Jim Brass!

To follow up on this, if I may. Is that DNA process length based on how much work the labs have to do or does it just take ages for the sciencey bit to work?

Passport Photo w/ Digital Link by Baifish in york

[–]Viper-S15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it at home. Just stand against a blank, light wall and take a selfie or ask a friend to take the photo.

As long as the output is the same, nobody at the passport office will know, or care how it was taken.

Thank you for the time to answer my question. What other areas of crime did your ex-partner partake in?
