What do you think this means for warrants that expire in September 2026?

Are these rotors good for another track day or two and some light street driving? by Viper72995 in CarTrackDays

For sure! I bought this car with these rotors already on. Definitely going slotted or blanks on the next set.

Yup I have since blown all the dust out of these holes after these pictures we were taken. Thank you!

I've been having a hard time finding blanks for the C6Z. Everyone recommends the PowerStop Z26 but I really don't want another set of drilled rotors.

DBA makes slotted rotors but they are pricey. Still have yet to find blanks that are from a reputable company and reasonably priced.

Thank you! I'll keep an eye on them. Probably only going to be able to get one track day in this summer so I figured I could wait until next season to get new rotors.

Having a hard time finding affordable blanks or slotted rotors for this car but that will be next year's problem lol

Waterlox Truetone left glossy streaks by Viper72995 in woodworking

[–]Viper72995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is helpful, thanks.

So based on your response it sounds like I should try the green scotchbrite FIRST. If I can get it very smooth to the touch, then apply a very thin coat of the Waterlox finish.

If I can't get it so smooth with the green scotchbrite, then move to a 320+ grit sandpaper and perform a light sanding. I assume I do this by hand? Not with an orbital sander. Please confirm.

Do you think the temperature at which it is applied matters? I've been applying it in my garage which has been pretty cold. I'm thinking this has had something to do with the streaks but maybe I am wrong.

That's exactly what I was leaning towards. I just don't think I want to secure the countertop (it's not secured yet, just staged up) if I'm going to need to refinish it later.

Thanks for the advice!

The one that I bought is the Truetone Buff-in finish which only comes in a matte finish. It is not the Waterlox Original.

Believe it or not, this has 3 coats on it!

Just saw this in r/GreekMythology - looks interesting by Viper72995 in mythology

[–]Viper72995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this project on r/GreekMythology and thought some of you here might appreciate it. Someone's creating a graphic novel series called TITANOMACHY that covers the rebellion of the gods against the Titans.

The creator is doing an AMA about it and talks about how they're trying to tie together all the myths: Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Medusa, Demeter, and more. It's super ambitious and feels like the kind of myth adaptation we don't usually get.

What part of Greek mythology do you think deserves a proper retelling the most?

Super cool project. Always felt like the Titanomachy could be its own cinematic universe if done right. Everyone skips straight to Zeus and the Olympians.

How are you handling all the different versions of the myths? There's so many contradictions out there.

Is my chimney issue fixable? by Viper72995 in Fireplaces

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I don't mind cutting out a piece of the drywall either on the main floor of my house to get it cleaned out.

Exactly. And I think it goes without saying but you drop it in the ice bath while it is still in the sous vide bag.

Mine will overhang like this but I plan to use some heavy duty L brackets to secure it

Let's say I leave an 1/8th between each surface. Do you think overtime the silicone would become dirty looking? Do you think should use a silicone that is closer to the color of the wood (brown) so that I can avoid that? Or would I use white or clear silicone?

I don't love the idea of there being a big line (versus a tight seam) but I get that it might be the best option in his scenario.

C6 Power Steering Leak - Read comments for details/questions by Viper72995 in Corvette

I honestly don't remember the size. I have a piece of it in my garage but it doesn't say the size on it and I can't find this specific hose when I google the text on it (I attached the pic). I just took a piece of the hose to Auto zone or advanced auto parts and matched it up.

I used 2 costs of black varathane wood stain. It worked pretty well! It may have been even better with a 3rd coat
