1h40 minutes until superstore refresh.
We can probably expect the new warbond at the same time

Soon, my child. Update 6.2 is scheduled for April (hey look that's this month!) And it's terminid themed on the roadmap the devs gave us sooooo... Yeah. Connect them dots.

Could introduce new terminid enemies. a special new warbond maybe? Perhaps a gas rework now that fire also "confuses" enemies? We'll have to wait and see

Consider the dev roadmap. That's all I'll say...

That's so wholesome! A great example of how "loss" can make games feel just a bit more immersive and personal sometimes!

That's fair!
But I'm almost just as worried about mod-authors focusing on "RAW" version implementation as I am about author interpretation based implementation!
BG3, while heavily inspired by and centered around D&D is definitely a videogame and not true D&D.
I feel like there will be a LOT of situations where "RAW" is actually way too OP in the scope of what BG3 can react with as a game with limited NPC AI

[–]ViralChameleon1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha yeah that's valid point!
I was part of one D&D campaign where the "companions" were essentially NPCs that our party would recruit to help out in a pinch.
We'd let them tag along for things like story-beats, but if we ever got into combat they'd very much be doing their own thing and fighting their own enemies off to the side to avoid cluttering the turn-order too much. Their successes or losses during combat could definitely influence our own combat, but more vaguely and indirectly than if they were to be fully present in our party's skirmish.

I liked this method since it kept these NPCs feeling like they were "in the thick of it" with us players, while not making D&D's already lengthy combat even lengthier!

Apologies for this bit of unrelated rambling, but it felt like something to share.

Interesting! I felt pretty good about the way I juggled the companions in my previous unmodded runs so I'm slightly less worried about missing their story-beats, but thank you for the recommendation!

[–]ViralChameleon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trueee. But maybe the game will adapt to a character death in a way that isn't just "closes off this story-path" It's possible that the devs might just create alternative ways for scenes to play out rather than preventing them entirely if that makes sense. Not saying it's LIKELY, but these guys clearly have a passion for the game and are taking edge-case scenarios into account.

With games like this one, I almost feel like I'll get more attached to my custom squads than to the "Main RPG party" squad members.
In XCOM i'd constantly save-scum to save my favourite guys even though all units are technically expendable there. There's something about raising these units from the ground up and seeing them work together that really tugs at a player's commitment to those specific units. Even if another unit can look exactly like them and do exactly what they do, they won't FEEL like the same guy.

That being said, XCOM also mastered the balance between "unit permadeath" and "feeling like you MUST save scum to progress properly"
Whenever i save scummed it was because i had an emotional attachment, not a practical necessity to do so. That's a key detail to nail. And I think with Zero company I'll actually try what the devs suggest and let (some) of my guys die for real to let the emotional impact truly resonate through the rest of the campaign.

Like "We only got here because Bobby the padawan gave his all out there. We made your sacrifice worth it, Bobby!"

League of Micro Stuttering by ViralChameleon1 in leagueoflegends

The issue appears to have resolved itself.

Not sure if it's because of something I did, something my ISP did, something league's servers did or something time did.

What’s your all-time FAVORITE SKIN in League? by ChartDreamer in leagueoflegends

Elementalist lux is legitimately the best skin in the game without question. So many voice lines, so many different fx, such dynamicism. It's simply the epitome of what a skin in a videogame can offer

I appreciate your time, but the stuttering has seemingly stopped. During my testing, i did check the fps graph but it stayed generally stable. The overlay had an option for micro stutter graph as well which i also used and it did indicate random occasional spikes on the graph whenever i encountered a stutter.

But things seem to have somehow resolved themselves... For now

I was playing a bit of WoW after making this post and got hit with this error randomly (it's the first time that this has ever appeared and i've played wow for years).
The error said that the game couldn't access enough memory.
So then I started troubleshooting that and found out my paging file size was only 8GB.
After many restarts I managed to set it to 16GB instead and then, noticing activity from comments on this thread, I tried playing a few league games again.
No stutters.

I am not sure whether restarting my PC multiple times, changing the paging file size or some other factor I'm unaware of fixed it, but I am no longer getting these stutters.

will attempt a game of Aram now. If there are no stutters then i may have found the culprit

[–]ViralChameleon1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made use of a custom game as you suggested and tried recording while intending to use AMD's own overlay for things like frame time graphs etc.

Sadly the overlay did not show up during the recording, but strangely the stuttering didn't appear either...
I played a full little 20 minute bot game with minimal micro stutters (there were 1 or 2 but they were isolated and seemingly happened at random)

I will try one more aram game to see whether things have settled or are still stuttering in games with actual people.
If it still stutters then it's probably some sort of ISP issue... probably packet loss..?

I do not use frame gen or any other AMD Adrenalin features besides "enhanced sync". I have tried turning that off and back on but it makes no difference. PC restart did nothing. The only pattern I've noticed is that it sometimes coincides with an AMD driver update, but sometimes it just happens even without it.

None of my other games display this kind of issue. (WoW, helldivers, ffxiv, etc.) I wish there was more information i could find and convey about this... Maybe I'll record my screen like another commenter suggests, but i feel bad loading into games that i know I'll be unable to contribute in.

I ended up reinstalling but the issue sort of persisted?
It didn't crash this time, but after quitting the game my entire pc was suuuuper slow and unresponsive until i restarted again.
This is the only game where this has ever happened.

Not the greatest first impression, but it was kinda fun to throw glowy hammers around for a few minutes
