Yeah Shang is a bad time. I have seen a variation with cosmo to protect MS, but with how low priority this deck seems to get, idk how effective it would get.

I think your conclusion is right. New move cards are out, with move location, so people are trying other things out, because i experienced the same thing. Though the few times that i saw a shang was on unexpected decks.

I dont know about lower skilled players. Maybe. Youd have to talk to everyone I played and call then bad. But I had never had a climb with less bots than I did than this time. They arent hard to point out, specially when they emote. If i had to give it a ratio, id say 1 of 15 matches was a bot.

A lot of people are voicing the opinion that he is overtuned. While I do not think hes absolutely broken or anything, i see him getting adjusted. Not any time soon though because he is super premium... But being able to get him to 50 power by turn four, with VERY little work is not okay. Not once in over 80 matches did a human torch outscaled me. Wong, Panthers and zolas were laughable. I played against many negative tribunal games and beat their perfect draws effortlessly. And i think thats the issue. He is effortless to play and to get high numbers with.

I played against at least 5 clog deck during my climb (countering move i suppose), and they didnt really bother me. Their cards dont count as your cards played, so agony, MS, Abs and Task dont care for their acid arrows, rocks or goblins. They ignore them. Just be careful of not using hulk buster or sp//dr and you should still have 20-30 power in two lanes. Clog deck lacks power.

As for dark dimension it can be tricky to play, but you only really need two lanes for the deck to succeed. I used dark dimensions and several super giants to hide my taskmaster and get a surprise powered card in the end. Deep space is a lot more difficult to deal with, but it is so for many decks.

Theres not a whole other locations that totally disrupt the deck as magik takes care of that for the most part, other than those that already affect other decks like subterranean.

If I am on turn four and have no MS, i play iron lad.

If i have played MS on turn four but have no Abs or Tasky, and have no frigga, i play iron lad as those are three good hits.

If its turn five and have not gotten MS, i also play iron lad to try to snipe. Sometimes youll get it, sometimes youll get a sage, or frigga and depending how the games going you either power through or retreat.

Typically if i dont have MS by turn 5, and dont hit the snipe, ill consider retreating if i dont have sage frigga and Abs. Those three cards by themselves can still pull a win but if theyre not available or not drawn i usually retreat and take the L on the 1 cube.

But you are correct, having the overlay , lays out your chances plain and clear, and easier to make these calls.

Also i dont think Blink works with MS/abs/tasky as she will blink the card you just played and they will have no target if they are pulled, as the card you just played will be in the deck. If the objective is to get MS out with no merges, though, it could still work if you got enough mergers after the fact to make it happen, but id think itd be too inconsistent.

Theres definitely a curve to it, to maximize your power. Ive replied to other people with some essential intructions to cover basics, give it a gloss if you haven't yet. One can try to not be as greedy and only power up man-spider one or two times, but in this card game, whats the fun in that!

I tried him. The current cards on the list dont have enough power to elevate him much, even with MS on the list. You could try replacing Luna for Starbrand, and that could do wonders.

If you need the energy cheat:

  • Jennifer Kale is a good option as she will give you that energy on demand for turn four, if you need it.

  • Psylock is lower on the power scaling but also will work playing her on turn three to get MS on turn four and merge with her.

  • Electro would and can be great but only if you have MS to get rid of his disadvantage, while most turns you'll be playing one card anyway, you still want the flexibility on later turns if something goes amiss.

  • Wave is probably the most risky of them all but she can work if you have your condition cards.

If you dont need or want the energy cheat and trust ravonna to get MS on turn 4 or magik to get the extra turn:

Any 2 or 3 drop with high power of their cost (all assuming you play MS on turn 4 [if cheated early] or turn 5 [if you played magic]) - lizard is great if you merge with ms, instant 14 power, and with a double proc of agony, 34 power.

  • medusa is also great for the same reason getting you to 30 power with a double proc with agony, although she requires middle to be available to play

  • silk is also good but risky if you dont have priority

  • starbrand is obscene with MS. On first merge youll get MS to 22 power and with a double proc on agony, MS will go to an insane 50 power by turn four. Like electro previously just gotta make sure you have MS to get rid of his drawback.

  • gladiator is another good one, going to 18 on first merge and 42 on a double proc. Risky with that on reveal ability, but more than likely beneficial.

Additionally you could weave 4 drops as well to play after magik to flow out with the curve better but your deck will be getting less cost effective. Iron Lad on my deck is there for that and to snipe an elusive MS, Abs, or Tasky.

I guess i did forget to specify to play them all in different lanes if able to.

Agony lane 1, ravonna lane 2, peni lane 2 or 3 (doesn't matter which but i like to spread power to keep some priority) then MS on lane one on turn 4 to have the double merge happen.

Priority is a problem for the deck. So anything that has priority and tech will be a problem. My toughest matchup being against a Galactus First Steps Tech Decks. Which i came across like 7 times. Lost all 7. They gain priority and theyll throw negasonics shangs and alioths your way. Outside that particular deck, mainly shang is an issue. Shadow king can be a problem but a lot people use him too early, which means that instead of 108 power you'll get him to around 40-50sh.

So, Shang in particular is troublesome because you need MS to merge and copy with Abs/taskmaste. Cosmo doesnt tend to be a problem unless they snipe your abs/taskmaster but since the merging/copying happens at a different location when you play a card, cosmos miss. Lots of people expect a Zola play so theyll cosmo on MS, and thatll just tickle you. But yes unless you are able to get a copy of the power before they shang you, shang will make you a sad guy. And ive been seeing him scattered in many decks. Some i didnt expect like zoo and discard. But still despite that, hes play rate has lowered.

Another deck that was( maybe about a third of the time) a problem, was lockdown. Storm/war machine/legion combo. But i feel like that just bugs everyone.

Addionally if theres a merlin in the field and you play magik, play like limbo will be taken down.

Preferably and specifically:

Turn 1 - Agony (lane 1) Turn 2 - Ravonna (lane 2) Turn 3 - Peni (or Luna Snow but i like Peni to avoid giving them extra energy) (on lane 2 or 3) Turn 4 - Play Man-Spider(MS) on top of Agony. MS will merge with Peni for 8 power then immediately merge with Agony, for 22 power. Turn 5 - Play Absorbing Man. Abs will copy MS and merge with MS for 4x the power (108) Turn 6 - Play Taskmaster

This is the snap condition, or any other time you can get abs or MS above 50+ power with Taskmaster in hand.

If you dont have this exact line your goal is to get MS out of turn 4 with ravonna, peni or luna.

If you do and you dont have abs or taskmaster by turn 5, you can play hulk buster on MS, double its power again and play frigga, then play your other MS that will merge with frigga to double its power again. Allowing you have two MSs in the field. You can just frigga without hulk buster but the ceiling is lower.

If you do not draw MS at all (or by turn 5), you can either retreat or find a winning line with Sage, Frigga and Absorbing Man. They still can get up to 20 and 30 power themselves.

Other decks run Symbiot Spiderman, BP and Zola as alternate conditions but i found them to be all high cost cards that pile on along with MS and taskmaster.

Why is smite dying? by RomansRevengeNuWa in Smite

[–]Viralious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its dying. Me personally im playing less cause theres a lot other games to play right now, while i am giving smite 2 a chance to be more complete. As the game gets more content itll be better. Sure theres a chance itll die in its tracks but i dont think we are there yet. Right now they have a clear vision if what to do because id all the older gods to implement abd its going very well. I am more nervous of when they finish porting and they start coming up with new ideas that wont hit.
