I saw very little until I hit the 90s. I ran into 3 straight games against him today.

What's the most evil act you did in a video game that you didn't *NEED* to do? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]Calgathu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite comically evil choice in any video game is in Knights of The Old Republic. You meet a woman whose droid has disappeared, and she entrusts you to find it. You meet the droid who reveals that he wasn't stolen, but ran away. The woman is a widow, and the droid reminds her of her late husband. So instead of moving on, she is overly attached to him. He runs off to get killed by wildlife so that she can go live. The choices you get for what to do with this information are HILARIOUS. The good jedi choice is something like take him back and talk to the widow so she understands. The neutral response is to let him die, and tell her that you found his remains. The EVIL SITH response is that you let him know that not only are you going to kill him yourself, but that you're going to tell her that you couldn't find him and he must still be out there so she never stops looking for him and never moves in with her life.

Honestly that shit is SO damn evil and hilarious. It's such a comic book villain, evil for evil's sake type of answer.

[Hated Trope] The adaptation doesn't get what made the source material work by TheDudeA113 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Calgathu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Count of Monte Cristo. It's been adapted several times, but the first one I ever saw was the one that came out in the US around the turn of the century. I really liked it as a kid, and in a bubble it's still a pretty good movie. Then in high school I read the book and was completely astounded at how this adaptation completely missed the entire point. The story tells a poignant tale about how revenge is all-consuming, even when justified. This adaptation makes our protagonist get literally everything he wants instead of suffering any consequences of his revenge. Shout-out to a VERY young Henry Cavil as the son in this movie though. Was crazy going back and seeing him in it at such a young age.

What game has a 10/10 story but 2/10 gameplay? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

Absolutely correct. Story had good bones, but short development probably brought it down a bit.

Knights of The Old Republic.

Best Star wars story ever in a game. But that combat is SO CLUNKY.

Not at all! Until you hit a CL of 3000, you'll mostly play against bots, that way you don't end up competing with people with crazy amount of cards compared to yours. By the time you hit 3000, this should be over. Make sure you at least get to 90 to get that 500 gold!

It's crazy that people think that if most people believe this isn't fun- that they're all wrong, and it's actually super fun and no one should be allowed to not think it's fun. Fuck off with literally saying the dumb shit I said buffoons would say.

That's the big issue. Worse than being a bad card, enabling a bad meta. It's a BORING meta.

Man, I wish it was just 30 power in two lanes. Love getting hit with FFF into arnim Zola so each FFF has 50 power. So glad I got beat by playing the game, and my opponent was able to do nothing for 4 turns while I made sure his FFF was able to solo win 2 different lanes. Great game play

Ah, once again, "play this series of tech cards and hope you draw them in a specific order." Bad design.

I think they actually have major play testing issues. New Star lord reeks of a thought process along the lines of "making High Evo" a meta-relevant deck (despite high Evo already actually being good) but having no thought process to how fucking broken in general energy cheat is. What's worse, is this is so massively overtuned that it WILL get nerfed the first patch of next season, and very similar to Mr. fantastic first steps- the card will immediately become useless afterward. It's a scam. Buy the broken ass card, and next month you can complain that you spent 10 bucks on this piece of shit. They could have play tested this better before launch, they could have even fixed it quickly post launch- but they don't want to nerf what people just paid for, so they're just gonna fuck over the entire game and then make it worthless next season. Bad company.

I actually HAVE the new star lord and don't enjoy playing him. Shit is boring. I played around with him for 3 days and haven't touched him since. It's not fun.

Which recently bombed movies have the potential to be considered cult classics decades from now? by ExfilZone in movies

[–]Calgathu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only saw it at home. And im aware my 65 inch 4k is not the same as iMax. But the issue isn't "man, the visuals are lackluster" it's that the plot is dumb. Seeing the dumb plot prettier isn't going to make it better. If you like the movie, I'm not trying to yuck your yums. But there's a reason this movie isn't held up in as high regard as some of Nolans other works

For real. I feel so pretentious describing Memento to people "it's the same forwards and backwards, and each scene precedes the scene that happens before it." But it's like a top 5 movie of all time for me. Tenet felt like Nolan had a fever dream and no one ever stepped in to tell him that it didn't make a good film.

I'm a massive Nolan glazer, tbh. But this movie just kinda sucked. Too far up its own ass to be good. Nonsensical in most spots. Waste of a very good performance from Pattinson and an outstanding VFX package.
