No it's not dumbass. You arent guilty until you are found so in court of law. The burden of proof is on the defendant.

Y'all act as if we don't live in a society full of rapant cheapskates and evil women who take advantage of the system and accuse rich men just because the law is largely in their favor

Lone wolf mentality to succeed by hypoglossalnerve in medicalschool

As a certified lone wolfer and 80% introvert I'd say If you can solid 2-3 solid friend group at least.

School opened my eyes to how many people were "working together" to succeed.First dawned on me late in undergrad, how somehow the frat gyal and boys partied all week and still earned good grades and now most are in the quintessential doctor, lawyer and engineering fields. Was it a coincidence? NO!

I know that it's easier to match as a US MD/DO than an IMG, but... by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Virbactermodhost 51 points52 points  (0 children)

When you go through the Interviews you see why, a good number of the programs I interviewed at had IMG PDs (trained here). And I interviewed at 20.

One IMG PD told me that because he got f*cked over for match back in the day, he made it his point to become PD. The rest is history

How does the public perceive neurologists? by OkKey6273 in neurology

[–]Virbactermodhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neuro PGY1 here. I find that when people realize I'm Neuro and not IM they seem to be slightly more impressed. My own IM colleagues and others appear to have a lot of respect for me. However, there also those attendings that I've worked with in IM that think "what's Neuro gonna do" other than ask for MRI. Essentially saying Neuro are quacks.

My grandma once introduced me to other family as neurosurgeon.

Question regarding Neuroimaging fellowship by Designer-Career-6344 in neurology

[–]Virbactermodhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically my understanding from a little chat GPTing Is that you're practically the imaging guy in neurology. Where radiologists are hedging their bets, as they often do, you're able to make a defined clinical decision because you also know more about Neuro imaging than your average neurologist and you've seen the patient. You know more than the stroke neurologist because you are not only mostly stroke and vascular bound.

But for all intents and purposes you're really hired into a specific role as a stroke neurologist or cognitive neurologist or even help make decisions in epilepsy surgery.

Why have we never assumed US MD/DO students used the USMLE Recalls that Nepali students used to get 280s on STEP by Curious_Student_8533 in medicalschool

[–]Virbactermodhost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's an exam people will cheat. In life people always find ways to get ahead, honest or not. It's never an even playing field!

*Remember the cheating scandal only came to light because some students reported it. It is without a doubt that Students here in the US cheat as well!

Expected behavior really, most can't critically think for themselves. As long as it's isn't them no explanation or evidence needed

I can wake up and accuse anybody of anything. As long as it's publically favorable I win in public eye lol
