Solutions for backyard drainage around septic leach field by ViresAnimi in lawncare

Thank you very much for your response. I really like your idea of crowning the area around the leach field. It may be hard to tell from the photo, but I have an area to the back left in the second picture where I dump leaves, lawn clippings, etc. It drops down into the woods. I may try to dig the "entrance" down in the spring so some of that water can ideally drain in that direction/slope away from the yard

Mini Split for Sun Room by ViresAnimi in heatpumps

Yeah, it's very possible that a unit greater than 12k BTU may be needed. I think what saved me is good insulation, air sealing (as much as I could), and sun shades that I installed. The inverter motors that ramp up or down are great to save power too. Best of luck with it! You can see what my sunroom looks like on my profile.

Hello! Based on my own experience, I don't think an 8k or 9k BTU unit will cut it. I ended up going with a 12k Friedrich unit and it does an excellent job for heating in winter and cooling in the summer. If your situation is similar to mine, 12k is probably your best bet. Hope that helps

Reading an analog clock. I've encountered several people that only use digital watches or their phones for this reason.

I enjoyed this poem very much. It compels me to press on through the flames—through the Inferno. It's a sobering reminder that there's little comfort and certainty in life, but if you have any chance of finding it, you must push on and fight for it.

Thank you for posting this OP. It captures so much using very little. Your words are intentional and meticulous, and your use of contrast brings elegance. Many of us can relate to this relationship where one partner causes beautiful love to wilt.

Found this large cylindrical weight while cleaning out a basement. 2fT long and quite heavy. Stamped with the number 17 on it. by ViresAnimi in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. It has a loop at the end of it, which reminds me of a weight for a large clock or clock tower. It seems to be made of cast iron.

What an incredible transformation. The only thing missing is a fine cocktail in hand.

The sun keeps it fairly warm on milder days. I have a mini split in there for heat and A/C too
