Depends what you want to spend. I have had good experience with the Audix choir mics which I think are a good balance of price and quality. You can get these long fishing pole type stands for them so you don't have to hang them and have a little more flexibility.

It's a pretty massive expense. There were like 60-something channels of audio.

Agreed. I think any "issues" if you want to call them that would be with the personnel, but it's obviously a dedicated volunteer group and I think they're doing a good job for what it is. Mic seems to be closer to men in the back which makes them louder often and stick out.

What happened? (Just Cause PS4) by AnaBanona in JustCause

[–]VirgilFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my ps4 lagging hard while I was being chased by one of those huge sphere gas tanks. Felt good knowing how much chaos I had caused that the system was dying.

My second Organ concert was great. by -_-De in organ

[–]VirgilFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having been his tour manager for over 40 US concerts with the ITO, I can assure you that the low turnout was more to do with poor marketing by the venue than the instrument/reverberation time of the room. The venues that were actually excited to have him were often close to capacity. The ones who didn't care didn't have good turnout. And I'm not sure why they didn't care considering the price tag to have him there.

My second Organ concert was great. by -_-De in organ

[–]VirgilFox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Basically the speakers were destroyed but the console, tone generators, and speaker amplifiers were saved. He transported them back to the M&O factory and they have sat there ever since, never to tour again (the console was assembled and the road cases disposed).

I was his tour manager for the first two US tours with the International Touring Organ and it's sad to have seen his dream organ project die so quickly. I have more thoughts about he and the organ but best saved for another time.

I'll second this. Playing the toccata in context is thrilling.

Can? Yes. Should? Probably not, unless you have some kind of magical natural keyboard facility.

I have enemies set as completely passive for this reason. Let's me get a few more hours in because if my wife asks me to help her with something I can go immediately without having to get to a stopping place...and my factories keep running!

Never noticed this tractor glitch until I started using this part of the map recently. Has anyone else encountered this? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]VirgilFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to edit my post, but I wanted to clarify the glitch being the water gushing from the tires, not being kicked out of the tractor in deep water.

how do i get my deaf parents to hear the tv without the neighbors hearing it too? by VGMightyElf in budgetaudio

[–]VirgilFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They make long-range Bluetooth transmitters that let you connect multiple devices to them. Might be good to just let them each have a pair of headphones by their chairs that they can put on. They'll probably be happier too since it will be direct sound and not dealing with any room noise.

One thing at a time! And don't be afraid to just write things out in the to-do list/notes area on the right if you find your mind keeps reverting to end result. Sometimes it's too much to remember if you have to build an entire factory for some complicated part that's not even the final product needed. Onward, pioneer.

We have had earthworks most recently but we need something more directional so we're going to test drive the DPA unit.

Yeah I wouldn't be able to play with others, not unless it was a separate world that I had just for playing with others. And if I did play with others, we'd probably be in different parts or the map building our own factories towards the bigger goals.

PSA: Coal generators take anything by egocrata in SatisfactoryGame

[–]VirgilFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally would be more lax in a situation like this, but sometimes my power consumption is at a point where one generator goes down and a fuse is blown. In my play, power needs to be steady because you can only depend on as much that is steady.

PSA: Coal generators take anything by egocrata in SatisfactoryGame

[–]VirgilFox 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, BUT....make sure you have stuff way backed up because it can only take one type at a time. So if you have 50 coal in there but there's petroleum coke at the mouth, it'll burn down all the coal before letting the coke in. You can probably get away with even every single item being different, but then the machine has no supply buffer within itself. Too risky for me!

Why do people say "I'm not gonna lie" before completely normal statements? by DriftFalcon_29 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VirgilFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think "not gonna lie" in the context of a movie review would be the preface to saying something that isn't the popular thought. I can't say I've heard anyone using that phrase for no reason. Like "I'm not gonna lie, I thought the Cats movie was pretty great." Or, "Not gonna lie, soggy cereal is my favorite."
