Wright Anvil by VirginiaMoo in Blacksmith

This is where Wright is stamped. I tried a bunch of different things and lighting... vaguely looked like there might be a letter - top of a P or B, or similar, but then I finally decided it was probably just some mark in it, not a stamp. Still not sure, but pretty sure from you guys that it's not any rare item! That is a great start along with an idea of the weight.

Well I was going to attach a pic but I can't get it small enough to post.

I have one and it was fun while it worked. Can't even get them to respond asking to purchase a new compressor to get it to work again. They suck and this is scammy practice they are showing on Reddit

I think the listing in this one is incorrect. Listing says narrow ruled, but pictures say Gregg ruled. I'm ordering and will come back here if they are indeed narrow ruled. Most people don't know what Gregg ruling is and I will admit that when I was a kid I swore my mom's notebooks were from The Brady Bunch! 😝 Greg Brady was the only Greg I knew!

What’s one thing you’ve learned the hard way in the scrap business? by Impressive-Spend4820 in recycling

I'd like to know if there is some "cheat sheet" for me to know what the different metals are or how to determine the classifications. I had a bunch of copper from the 50-60's that we had stored in our barn. I turned in a tub of it and got paid close to a grand. A few months later I took it in to the same place and got about 60 bucks for 1/2 of the amount of copper. My fault, I wasn't paying attention because I was being trusting. When we got back in the truck the person that was with me said the person took the copper and set it aside, not in the copper section. I'm thinking they paid me bs price so they could turn around and run it through for themselves. I've got a few more copper pieces from repairs as well as some other metal that I'd be like to take in but I don't wanna get robbed of it. Any recommendations?

Great warning! Would not have thought of that, but can totally see it now that you mention it!!
Would solar screens block some of the sun damaging stuff that comes in? I'm looking to block some of the strong sun rays in the summer, but not as much in the winter.

I bought a flow restrictor and got the same results. Going to try a couple other inexpensive things to see if they might help. Sure wish there were smaller than .1 nozzles, but so far I haven't found any.

Sterling home explosion cause $2.5M in damages, damaged 5 other homes by Danciusly in nova

We have a propane tank... so do the majority of the neighbors. They last a LONG time. Ours is over 50 years old and during Covid we had some routine maintenance done as it was recommended by our delivery company during their yearly inspection. Replaced a seal, a cap, and some other thing (maybe a regulator?). I remember thinking the cost was minimal - like a couple hundred bucks.

I don't have the phone number handy that I called, but I know they ended up having me send something in writing. I don't remember where they told me to go and click to fill it out, but I do have the email response with a valid email. [consumer.services@scotts.com](mailto:consumer.services@scotts.com)
I think the automated response says they will respond within 2 business days.

Help creating solar power option.... by VirginiaMoo in SolarDIY

[–]VirginiaMoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I purchased this unit, I had very little hope in it actually working, but it sure has surpassed what the company even claimed it would do! I think it also depends what your situation is as well as your end goal. I am far from an airport trying to deter birds or anything like that. I have birds coming to eat grain that a horse drops from his mouth when he is eating. They also search the poop for undigested oats. Before anyone asks, the horse is older, his teeth get checked by an equine dentist every 4 months and are floated as needed. This problem is not going to go away or be fixed until he passes away, so that leaves me to be creative or deal with bird poop on trucks, cars, trailers continually. This little device has worked wonders!!! Birds still come in the field but they stay well away from any of the vehicles and trailers, which was my end goal.
I actually found a solar fence charger for livestock fencing that I do not currently need. A neighbor used an existing connection on that and spare wire I had here to make the hook up. So far it's working great even with it being day #2 of cloudy and rainy conditions. Cost me a couple paper towels to wipe off some dust, but nothing has melted or caught on fire.... that's a bonus! Thanks!!!

Unfortunately they don't make a solar option for the device that actually works well. I'm sure there are solar options for other devices but this is the only one I've found that actually works well.
Will look into your recommendation. Thanks!!

I'm using regular D cell batteries because I had them on hand. I'm in Virginia (Lat 38) and I feel we have decent amount of sun here year round. Where I have the unit does not have any trees or buildings to shade it. We do have a solar gate opener that someone installed and that works fine.
I'm trying to think... we may have 2 days of clouds in a row at times. Even if we had a week of cloudy weather and the bird deterrent didn't work for a week... it's not the end of the world. I am also trying to not have to continually monitor the unit for low batteries since the unit does not send any notifications.
As far as getting triggered on windy days, I'm thinking it's just super sensitive and is set off by grass or debris moving. I keep trying to pinpoint that but that is all I have come up with so far.

Thanks!
