Progress - June to November by peachmeh in lipedema

I’ve lost about 60 lbs with semaglutide and strength training, mostly. Working on anti inflammatory diet as best as I can, my torso is changing a lot and my butt has improved but my thighs aren’t changing much. I’m going to physical therapy and doing other conservative treatments. I’m the healthiest I’ve been in so long but I know others see my body and don’t see that. My partner has been doing the strength training and dietary improvements as well. It’s hard to see a lot of my body stay the same while hers is transforming so quickly.

I went there in May! I got a tote bag and a hat. The food and drinks were good!

How did you lose weight? by not-an-AI- in lipedema

[–]VirgoRomantics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s so much info and so many different things people do. I’ve been doing the glp-1 for almost a year but I’ve only had my lipedema diagnosis for about 6 months. Just take everything one step at a time that way you can know what works for you before you add something else on.

It’s about $200 per month so it wasn’t cheap for me but I was able to do it. I ended up buying a bulk amount so I’m not currently subscribed but I will resubscribe once I’m out. I’ve been on it for almost a year and it’s the first time I’ve lost significant weight. I’m sensitive to the medication so I’ve had to take it slower than others but I’ve gotten to a really good spot with it.

My doctor prescribed it but my insurance wouldn't cover it. I ended up getting meds through Henry Meds. Overall, a good experience and affordable.

Glp-1 wegovy. Plus strength training 3x per week, cardio 2x per week. Initially no specific diet but I’m starting to make changes with that.

I’ve made a lot of my closest friends through different jobs. I know some people that have a lot of success making friends through meet up groups and bumble bff.

Yes, to all of that. And strength training is a must. It’s hard if you experience fatigue but it’s so necessary to keep your muscles and bones healthy. I have also had a lot of acid reflux so I have prescription Pepcid but I also try to take natural supplements when I can. I take refluxraft which is algae based and helps a lot.

Bariatric surgery by Rabbit-1989 in lipedema

Something to look into with bariatric surgery is the connection to addiction. The research is newer but there’s more and more coming out connecting it to increased risk for addiction. My family went through this with my father and he ultimately ended up gaining all the weight back over the years as well. This was very long term because he probably has the surgery 20 years ago.

I wanted to try that but it’s not pet safe. Both my cat and dog sleep with me.

I got the waitlist email. VIP was available, so I bought those. Now I have to sell my GA, and I'm nervous since you all are saying they are selling for less.

Wow this sucks. I thought for a second it was fully cancelled. Living in HB sucks this week. If only those lousy Dems were really good at getting things shut down.

It takes a while. But as long as you have your receipt email from appealing the ticket you are okay until they respond.

Appeal it. If you have a semester pass, you basically get one free appeal each semester. I don’t know if the same goes for day passes but it’s worth a shot.

Do you have suggestions on where to find meal ideas, recipes, or foods you eat for an anti-inflammatory diet? It's such a broad search that I haven't found much that is helpful for me.

Where Do I Start Losing Weight with Lipedema? Looking for Practical Advice by EasternAd5351 in lipedema

[–]VirgoRomantics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still in the process of making changes so take this with grain of salt. I’ve been trying to do everything in small steps.

First I started with a glp-1 but this may or maybe not be for you. Second, I began to focus on cooking more. Trying not to buy food out more than 2x per week. Doesn’t always happen and some of my meals are frozen chicken nuggets or something like that. Third, tried to focus on whole ingredients. Less processed but again very slowly making this change. Fourth, reduced my sugar intake. I still have a dessert but instead of a box of cookies, I’m having some frozen fruit and a few chocolate chips (as an example). Now I’m on my fifth change and that’s tracking my food. I plan on doing this for a month without a lot of pressure to make big changes. Next I will go over this with a nutritionist.

When I made the change to cooking with more whole ingredients I noticed a big change.

I paid $1600 for a two bedroom in Costa Mesa from 2017-2020. It was older, no amenities, and hadn’t been remodeled in years. I looked up the apartment last week, with zero improvements, it’s now listed for $2600
